FAQs...

Do you make everything yourself?

Yes. Every piece of jewelry is handmade by Theresa from the conceptualizing, to the stone ordering, to the fabrication, and finally to the packaging and shipping.

Can rings be resized?

Unfortunately, rings cannot be resized. Once the stone has been set, it cannot be removed and in order to change the size of the ring, high heat must be applied and would cause the stone to crack.

Do you have sales?

Yes, we do run sales several times a year, just stay tuned to our shop announcement to see when a sale goes up...we also post information on our Facebook and Instagram accounts. We unfortunately can't accommodate custom orders in our sales. Thank you for understanding.

Do you gift wrap?

Yes, for no additional charge. Gift wrap is kraft brown paper and cream grosgrain ribbon. Please request in note to seller at checkout.

Where do I submit special requests?

In the note to seller box at checkout.

Brass

Many of my pieces are made from raw brass or copper. When left raw these metals have the tendency to naturally patina and age over time. I love this about brass, and feel it gives each piece character, but if you prefer to keep your piece in it's original bright gold form, store in an airtight container or use a gentle brass/ bronze cleanser or polish when needed to bring it back to it's bright state.

Sterling + Fine Silver

When worn regularly, silver usually keeps it bright state. If kept out for periods of time, even unworn it can tarnish and the way it tarnishes depends on the climate you live in. You can easily rid your silver jewelry of tarnish with a simple polish, but we recommend wearing your jewelry often to naturally prevent this.

14k Gold Fill

My pieces, such as ear hooks on a few earrings styles are made of gold fill. Gold fill is made from solid gold which is 'filled' with other alloys. Unlike gold plate, It will not flake, and the surface will not turn your fingers like brass can do. The finish and surface of gold fill has the same properties of solid gold because it is gold. Please care for your gold fill pieces just as you would a gold piece of jewelry. Gently polish by hand with a clean cloth.

Solid 14k Gold

My solid 14k gold is created from recycled precious metal. Gently polish by hand with a clean cloth. Ultrasonic cleaners are safe for use and even a soft toothbrush and a squirt of Dawn dish soap and warm water can go a long way in helping your jewelry shine again.

>>It's a good idea to remove your jewelry and place it somewhere safe before working out, swimming, showering, or getting your hands dirty in general.

Thank you,

Overall the ring is nice, however the turquoise is actually darker than depicted in the photos, and the back of the claw setting seems to be a little misshapen and off kilter when viewed from the back. I do realize that this is a handmade piece, but for over 100 I would've expected a little more attention to detail.

Hi Michelle, we're sorry to hear that you aren't completely happy with your ring. All of our stones are natural and therefore vary in color and handmade items show the imperfections of the human hand. We've tried to reach out to offer you an exchange, but have not yet heard back. Please be in touch should you change your mind!

About

from earth science to jewelry collection

I received my BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with my main focus in drawing, fashion illustration, and textiles. In my senior year of college, I was in an accessories class and one of my projects was designing a small collection of jewelry. The jewelry incorporated different types of gemstone beads, fabric, wood, and wire all sort of forming organic shapes; stemming from some of the textile work I was doing. A professor at the time saw my jewelry and asked to carry it in her boutique where she was selling her clothing line. Although those beginning steps making jewelry were important, I didn't really come into my true medium until I was sitting through a lecture on minerals in my earth science class. That particular lesson resonated with me and I gravitated toward the sparkling mineral samples my professor brought in. He sent me in the right direction to buy raw minerals, and from that point, Mineralogy was conceptualized. It only seemed fitting that the definition of the study of minerals should be the name of the collection, since that was precisely what I was doing. Since then, I have been driven by the desire to create uncommon jewelry through the unique minerals I find.

From an inspiring earth science lecture on minerals, the jewelry collection Mineralogy began. It only seemed fitting that the name was the definition—the study of minerals—since the design process is centered around that study.

I take great pride in the quality of my work. However, that being said, handmade jewelry is not indestructible and it's delicate in the manner of all things handmade. I understand that accidents happen and I am more than happy to try to repair any jewelry, if possible, that was made by me within 1 year of purchase. Buyer is responsible for the cost of repair materials and labor.
