Amazing. My special order was created to my exact specifications and was delivered promptly. Seller kept in contact to update me on each step of the process of the order and made sure the order was done correctly. Would do business again.

Combining a love of food, jewelry and crafting!

When I was a kid nothing was as cool as my Barbie fridge, stocked full of tiny play food! I loved making pretend dinners and desserts in my dollhouse kitchen. When my Grandad made little plates of bacon and eggs out of polymer clay for me to use, my mind was blown. This took my fascination with tiny food to a completely different level.
15 years later, this served as the main inspiration for my first endeavors into crafting miniatures.

My first pieces were 1:12 scale food miniatures and they were amateur at best. Through trial and error, and countless hours of practice, I taught myself some basic techniques. The more I experimented, the more I learned.
Over the years I've gained knowledge and inspiration from many different places, and mistakes I've made along the way. My pieces have reflected those mistakes and knowledge, and when I look back on my more novice items, I feel proud to see the changes in the overall quality of my work.

I opened up on Etsy after I stumbled upon the delicious market of miniature food jewelry. I've learned so much since then in regards to not just operating, but building a business.
I didn't have much of a goal when I opened, so it has been exciting to watch my shop evolve as I learned more, and began to have a vision of what Jen's Mini Bakery could become.

I am finally starting to see the beginnings of that vision, but finding the time to fully bring it to life is taking much longer than I had hoped. It's been a long road and there is no end in sight yet, but I'm loving the journey it has become.
Until the day my vision is complete, I am having a lot of fun immersing myself in a creative process that has become so much more than just about making and selling miniatures.

I really love the miniature food art form, and the more I learn about it, the more I want to learn about it. I'm thrilled to see that food jewelry in particular has become a real presence, and that there are so many other people out there that love it as well! The diversity in the miniature food market is incredible. I strive to create original pieces and draw inspiration - not from the many talented mini food artists on Etsy - but from my own creativity and ideas.

I run my shop on my own, all pieces are designed and handcrafted by me. My imagination is constantly bursting with so many new ideas, and the only challenge right now is finding the time to bring those ideas to life. I am still trying to find the right balance between work, family life and my Etsy store, and it is a daily struggle.

My favorite nights are creative work nights; they usually consist of lattes, old tv shows (90210 and Degrassi High, anybody??) and a marathon long crafting session.

With many of my pieces I will try and incorporate deliciously realistic details, for added authenticity. I'm always excited to create original pieces based on my imagination and sometimes material inspirations... like, say, that cheesecake I have sitting in the fridge. I'm having a Golden Girls moment. I think I need to go get some "inspiration" right now...

If you have any questions, concerns, or want something made special just for you, please feel free to contact me. I am always happy to help!

Thanks for visiting; I hope you enjoy my mini creations!
