Announcement   This shop is for all my dollhouse and small doll items. Some things in this shop are original designs. Others are historical folk art patterns adapted to fit into a 12th scale dollhouse. I, also, have my vintage chenille doll comforters in this shop. I get pleasure out of the joy of creation and viewing the finished product, but, I get more joy out of seeing an item go to someone who will love it as much as I do. Since most items are hand crafted, no two items will be exactly alike. I include some vintage dollhouse items that were my mothers. Furniture items are a joint project between James and myself, everything else new is made by me.

Please, check out my original shop, Hobbymaker, while you're looking. In that shop, you'll find woodcrafted items, stained glass, our daughter's necklaces and needlecrafts, as well as, a vintage section.

About

Hobbymakers came first, then Hobbymakers' Dollhouse

This shop is dedicated to the memory of my Mother, Virginia. She has been interested in little things ever since I can remember. During her retirement years, she made 3 dollhouses. The first one of her Grandmother's home in Rockwood, TN. The next one of the house we lived in when I was a child in Virginia. The last one of my sister's home, a log cabin. She was always interested in crafts and tried just about anything she could get the materials to make. She taught me sewing, knitting, crochet and embroidery as a child. She later learned weaving. All these skills were useful in decorating a dollhouse.
We moved back to Alabama when we retired to be nearer to her in her later years. She showed me how to make the little hand tufted chenille bedspreads and how to weave the little coverlets. I don't have a dollhouse, but I love making things for others who do have a dollhouse or doll collection. Originally, I had my miniatures listed in my "Hobbymakers" shop, but decided that they needed a home of their own. "Hobbymakers' Dollhouse" is now the home place for all my dollhouse and small doll miniatures.

I am not interested in special orders that involve you telling me what colors, what kind, and drawing your own pattern. I tried that a couple of times and found it nearly impossible to please the customer. Thank you for understanding.
