About Us

Our 'story' is below. When we decided to live solely off our income from our Etsy business, we knew we needed to drastically cut expenses. We found a 'shed' on Craigslist, it became our home for the next 4 years. If you are determined, you do what you have to do. For us, this was the answer to freedom. If you want to see our tiny 400 foot house, click on the first link. Karen Brown, a writer for the Etsy blog, did a nice write-up about our house and business, you can find it on the second link below. We do not live in the tiny house any more - it was what enabled us to live on our tiny wages as we built our business. We now live in a 540 square foot mansion!

Our next family goal was to create a business and lifestyle that would allow us freedom to travel and volunteer. Not owning a traditional home, and living a very simple lifestyle has given us opportunities to work from some most amazing places. Thanks to our simple lifestyle, we now often travel. Our part of the work involves sample making, photography, creating new designs and listings, communication with customers, processing the orders, preparing the shipping labels and packing slips, and digitizing the embroidery every day. Since much of this is 'digital', we have been able to work from the Galapagos Islands, the border of Brazil and Bolivia, Ecuador, the Philippines, and Taiwan. Next up.....China! None of this would have been possible without trustworthy and diligent workers like we have, you can read about them in the shop profiles section. We also need good internet....and Dropbox......and Google Drive, and Magic Jack! We have the world's best suppliers also - with an email or a phone call they get it done.

    Max is chief digitizer - he is the one who prepares the digital embroidery files for your blanket. He will make sure the kerning is correct between each letter - and that the colors will match perfectly. Soon to come - appliques!

    Joliett is the ruffle queen. They are very difficult to sew - anyone who has ever sewn minky knows how laborious it can be - like trying to stitch together two clouds! Then try sandwiching a slippery piece of silky satin, no one does it like her!

All items are made by hand in our sewing studio, located out in the beautiful southern countryside. This is relaxing and conducive to creativity, once you get past not having certain conveniences, like high speed internet! (Update: we now have high speed internet - talk about life changing!)

Return Policy

Minkee Baby Gifts stands behind our products. Your satisfaction with our product is our highest priority. If you are unhappy with a product that you have received, we will make it right. We will be happy to accept your non-personalized items back for either a refund or store credit (please note shipping charges will NOT be refunded on items being returned. If your item was sent free shipping you will be charged shipping for items that are exchanged, free shipping is only offered once). Just call us and make arrangements for your orders return. Luvy blankets and custom orders are excluded from exchanges and refunds.

If you have received an item as a gift and there is a problem with an item please call us to make arrangements for return. Gift order returns will receive store credit or an exchange for the same item.

If the item is being returned due to damage, defect or our error we will make arrangements to have the item returned to us at our expense. Replacement items will not be sent until the original item is received.

We are not responsible for a package once it leaves our shop. We cannot control USPS, UPS, Fedex.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are redeeming a coupon code, you must use it as you check out - no refunds will be issued after purchase.

If you need it by a certain date, PLEASE leave the date you need the item by IN THE NOTES TO SELLER BOX. Do not leave important information in a convo only. We have dozens of orders at any given time, and we cannot remember every detail. If you leave it in a convo, and not in the notes to seller box, you will need to convo me more than once to remind me! I am imperfect - just ask my husband :)
Shipping
How long does it take to receive an order?
Most orders take 1-6 business days for processing. This depends much on our present workload. Once your order is processed how long it takes for shipping will depend on the shipping method you selected. We generally ship with USPS, unless you have convoed us with other arrangements. International packages have taken up to 3 months to arrive to their destination, please be aware of this when placing an order.

Domestic Packages will be shipped with Fedex unless you have chosen to ship with USPS. All International packages will be shipped USPS First Class International.

US bound or international bound, we are not responsible for a package once it leaves our shop. We cannot control USPS, UPS, Fedex.


International customers: you will be responsible for paying any customs charged by your government. I do not know how much you will be charged, please contact your Post Office for this information. You will need to tell them the value, and give them this specific tariff look up: 6301900000 OTHER BLANKETS AND TRAVELING RUGS

Also, as an International customer, PLEASE do not ask me to mark an order as a 'gift' on the customs forms. Both my government and yours require it be marked properly as 'MERCHANDISE if it really is merchandise. We will not jeopardize our family's well being to help someone to avoid paying customs charges. Luvy blankets may be returned but customers will be charged $8 restocking fee. All blankets show sizes in inches
Please do not order a 14 x 17 or the 18 x 22 blanket expecting a large blanket. These are small luvys as is indicated by size.

What is your turnaround time?

2-3 WORKDAYS. Now many of our blankets are in stock, custom orders can take up to 7 days. If they are in stock it will be listed in the title. Note: This does not include shipping time...please allow an additional 2-4 days for Priority Mail within the U.S. International shipping times vary from 2-10 weeks (all shipping times are completely and totally out of my control).

Can you include a gift note?

Yes! Just include your words in the note to seller box, we will add a card to your order. If you put these in a convo INSTEAD of the note to seller box they may not be included in your gift. Please do as we ask, put them with the order notes. We cannot guarantee a card otherwise.

Do you offer gift wrap?

We do not. We are fast and streamlined, you will have your order within a week. It will come tied with a bow and wrapped in a bag for security, and ready for gift giving.

Can I customize fabric choices?

If we have the fabric in stock, we can create a custom item. Please convo us before placing your order. Even if you want a fabric we do not carry, contact us to see if we might be interested in carrying it.
