Minouc Brocante

We are Minouc and Nienke from Amsterdam, Holland. We are a daughter and mother team. France is where we fell in love with antique markets, in beautiful old villages. Nienke used to live in France for quite some time. That's where we initially found our most wonderful treasures, from earthenware to brass, from postcards to fabrics. Now we also find beautiful items in Germany.

What we love so much about all those vintage objects, is that they are so beautifully made. Usually they are unique or hard to find.
We love giving these items a second life, passing them through and making other people happy with them! We stand for high quality objects, made with great craftsmanship. Most vintage items may show some signs of wear. We think this just adds to their beauty. The vintage items we sell are mostly in very good vintage condition. (We will always mention it in the listing description if there's any damage on an item.)

We have been working as a team for years now, we started with designing jewelry and opened our first Etsy-shop, where we sell handmade jewelry in victorian, bohemian and delft blue style: http://minouc.etsy.com.
We both design and make our own pieces of jewelry with love and attention.

We started 'Minouc Brocante' selling vintage fabrics from France, soon to be followed by many other objects.
What we know about the history of all those beautiful fabrics is that they were made in France and Germany, for duvet covers, in the first half of the last century. They are known as 'farmer style fabrics'. A farmer's girl would have the duvet covers in her 'trousseau' when she got married. They were made in floral and checkered patterns until in the fifties they became out of fashion. They are not made this day and age. It may be clear that we just LOVE those fabrics! Our own mothers had pillow shams and bedding in these lovely fabrics, we both grew up with them! They are increasingly hard to find, but we'll keep on trying to find them...

One of our other specialties is lovely tea cup trio's from Germany. These used to be very popular gifts. They were made in a lot of different patterns and designs, by many manufacturers who were well known for their high quality porcelain. Today they are still highly collectible. We still come across gorgeous different patterns and designs which we have never seen before!

Our search for beautiful finds and materials will never end. You will find the results of our searching and collaboration in this shop. We hope you will enjoy exploring our shop, just as much as we enjoy searching for vintage beauties!
