Announcement   Welcome! Celebrate you, celebrate handmade.
Think new beginnings. Imagine a world of color and shape. The shapes are simple, the colors brilliant.
Here you will find simple, yet practical, well made and colorful. And perfect for your lifestyle.

You don't have to envy Goldilocks her snack and a nap anymore. When you want a bag that is not too big and not so tiny that you might as well just carry a wallet, not so flashy that it will look out of place on the playground, and not so ordinary looking that it can't take you to the evening get-together. These bags, ideal for work, play, lounging, beach, park, office, and everywhere in between, will keep you perfectly organized for your mobile lifestyle.

Fully lined, detailed with topstitching, these bags are sturdy and durable, soft, supple and lightweight. To own one will be pure joy. One style to fall in love with, the bags come in seven sizes. Please see the note on size in the profile section: https://www.etsy.com/people/mirembedesign?ref=owner_profile. They have a varying number of pockets from none to five. Each bag is different. All the bags have about a 20-23 inch(51-58cm) drop from shoulder to the top of the bag.

Simplify your life, invest in peace of mind. You don't have to sacrifice quality for the sake of convenience and value. All items are made to last.

-OR-

Forget practical, the other side plays with color and shape. Wander off the path like Little Red Riding Hood, and pick some flowers. Ornament. From fabric balls to wall hangings, pillow covers to quilts. Indulge in texture, and color and pattern for a breath of fresh air in your living or work space.

Balls for children, balls for adults- from hand size to beach ball.
The smaller balls are about the size of a grapefruit or large orange, but oh, so much lighter. Park them on a shelf, dining table, in a entryway or hallway, on a window ledge, or on your desk- anywhere you want color. Some are even suitable for small hands and feet, to toss and kick. I especially love them in bowls.

Long for something new, something made just for you? Custom orders welcome.

This bag is exactly what I was looking for to give my husband for our anniversary. Well made with clever details, and the seller was easy to work with and gracious about adding a pocket. The new pocket is perfect, you wouldn't know it wasn't original in the design. Love it!

Beautiful workmanship! I wanted an "sophisticated" soccer theme for my son's room and this is the perfect accessory!

About

Hardworking, stylish and colorful accessories for you, your inner child, and your home.

I rescue new and vintage fabrics from a life of oblivion, creating colorful handmade treasures from bags to balls, pillow covers to placemats for the pleasure of all.

My little adventure into the land of bags began one afternoon when I wanted to go out on my bike on a short trip and hang out. My 'medium' messenger bag was too large and bulky for my few necessities and I would have to schlep it around for the rest of the afternoon. A little thought and two tubes later, I was on my way. Expansion in two directions and you arrive at the products in the shop.

The process begins with careful planning of color and fabric choice, then comes the creating of the two 'tubes'. The bags consist of two parts: what comprises the body is a single piece; the other is the strap. I create the pockets on each of the pieces, then assemble the tubes. I do this so that there are no exposed seams or raw edges. When these are fully assembled, turned and pressed, I then sew them together and topstitch, and voilà, your bag- a beautiful and comfortable piece with maximum style and minimal weight. I tend not to use fastenings because I find that most people rarely use them and they tend to add unneeded weight to the bag.
All the cotton fabrics have been prewashed.
I started off making the bags in sturdy cotton canvas for durability. I have now branched into using wool as well.
I am after craftsmanship here and I do not mind setting you apart from the crowd with these one of a kind, handmade pieces.

The balls began as a curiosity in making spheres from polygons. I somehow got stuck on balls from pentagons. And then I started to experiment with color and pattern. And yes, I know I am reinventing the wheel, but it is fun and fascinating.
The beach balls were the result of a challenge which has continued to fascinate me.

Quilting is really just my fascination with color, shape and pattern.
Combining shapes, breaking down shapes, building shapes, changing color, color combinations, making color create pattern and change it, playing with traditional patterns to make new designs. Infinite possibilities! I have been a quilter for more than twelve years at this point and am not even vaguely bored with it yet.
Unless otherwise noted, I use 100% cotton fabrics in my quilts and 80% cotton/20% polyester batting.

I do most of my sewing on an old Singer sewing machine from the 1940's. She still hums along beautifully. I occasionally consider converting her to a treadle machine.

I accept payment through PayPal and credit cards and Etsy Gift Cards via Direct Payment.
PayPal is a safe secure way to make purchases online. A Paypal account is not necessary for credit or debit card payments through PayPal.
If using PayPal, when you are ready to check out, just click on the 'Pay with PayPal' option and you will get forwarded to a secure page that gives you the option (it is on the right side of the page) to pay using your credit or debit card. Click 'continue' and complete the process.

Missouri addresses will incur a sales tax.
Shipping
All items in the shop are ready to ship. I make every attempt to ship items out as soon as possible. I will ship your item usually by USPS Priority Mail or First Class Mail within 1-3 days of receiving payment, and I will notify you when item has shipped. I can ship gift items directly to the recipient, just let me know in the comments box or convo me.
International customers, please note that you are responsible for any import duties and taxes payable at your end.
Once your package has left my hands and has entered the postal system, I have no control over it.
I enjoy going to the Post Office, but I do not go every day. Mailing days are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Large balls will ship on Saturdays. If you would like something quickly, please contact me and I will try and accommodate you.
I made a choice years ago to travel by bicycle whenever possible. I therefore plan accordingly. The idea of having things 'yesterday' is generally outside my sphere of thinking. However, if you should need anything fast, please let me know and I will do my best. Expect to pay extra for the privilege and again I stress, once your package has left my hands and is in the postal system, I have no control over it.

All items are made of different combination of materials, therefore I base shipping on an average weight and size for that item. I gladly refund any shipping overcharge over $1.00.
Refunds and Exchanges
Your satisfaction is important to me. If you are not satisfied with your purchase you may return it within 15 days for exchange for a similar item if available. Just let me know as soon as possible and I will do my best to make things right. Please understand that these items are one of a kind. Shipping costs at this point are the responsibility of the buyer.
