This jar is strong, well made, and looks great on my counter.

Finished loading the glaze kiln! Now time to fire it. This pinkish looking goblet will be blue after the firing - love the magic of the kiln!

I've been making pottery professionally for over 25 years.

For years I sold pottery in more traditional ways. I had work in gallery shops and galleries. I sold at art fairs, and I would have an annual studio sale at my home. Then a friend, Michelle, convinced me to put my work on etsy. She told me she would help me with the set up of my shop. I make the pots and take all the photos; Michelle is the wordsmith that writes the great descriptions about my pottery.

Once my pieces were listed and views started coming in, we were both amazed. Now that has been 4 1/2 years, I can truly say that thanks to Etsy, and my friend Michelle, I am now an international seller!

There are a couple of things I think are important for you to know about me. I have been honing my craft for a long time. I love pots and love to hold them, use them and appreciate them. I really enjoy making functional things be useful and beautiful. I love going to people's homes and seeing my pottery in use. Many of my pots that I use have survived my four kids using them to eat on, washing them, putting them away, and setting the table. They are sturdy and hold up to use - so please use them!

I have a BFA and an MFA in ceramics. That means I have learned a lot about my field. I have formulated my clay bodies to do exactly what I want them to do, and I have formulated all of my slips and glazes. Everything is food safe and I am constantly testing and tweaking my glazes to make them the best they can be. I try to work in my studio as much as possible. There are so many more pots in my head than time in the day to make them. I really appreciate how Etsy has made it so my pots can be seen and purchased by you, and everyone else around the world.

Additional policies and FAQs
As a rule, because creating Handmade Pottery is not an exact science, I do not make custom orders.

I find creating custom pieces per requests for specific shape, size, or color can vary greatly - and I would always want you to be satisfied with your purchase.

I will, however, sometimes create personalized pieces - adding wording or a date to a newly thrown piece. You're always welcome to inquire.

Custom or Personalized orders are not refundable.
