Announcement   I AM ON HOLIDAY UNTIL 15/2/2014 - ANY ORDERS PLACED WILL BE SHIPPED AFTER THIS DATE. THANKS :)

Thank you for stopping by at Miss Doofus. In my shop you will find handmade scented soy candles that are lovingly made in old containers.

Are you tired of shop bought candles that are all the same? Great. Me too, therefore almost all of my candles are made up in unique containers that I have collected around London. I love breathing new life into things that have been rejected by others.

All my candles are handmade and organic and most of them are completely unique. I only use soy wax and try to reuse containers and packaging wherever possible.

Please check out my policies here before placing an order: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/MissDoofus/policy?ref=shopinfo_policies_leftnav

You can also contact me with any questions.

About

Educating by day and making candles by night

My love for crafting began as a child. I grew up in Germany and always loved making things like gel candles, fashion bracelets, patterns from hama beads, painting by numbers, decorating porcelain etc. etc. My parents house is still full of my young creations.

As an adult I missed this ability to try out a new skill.

After finishing school I moved to the UK where I still live. I studied Child Care and still teach young children (currently mainly 2 year olds) during the day.
However a couple of years ago I took on the hobby of making candles for friends as well as for my parents. It really helped me to unwind and forget the stress that 9 hours of teaching and caring large groups of children causes... ;)

I now offer a variety of candles for sale in my shop. Mainly they are absolutely unique created in objects I picked up on markets as well as thrift stores. I don't believe in making a candle in some ugly container and then simply throwing it away and making another one... so I use soy wax to make my candles which means that you can reuse those containers afterwards. No more pointless buying and throwing away.

I also enjoy bespoke projects such as food candles as well as shaped candles. My favourite project from 2013 was a personalised butterfly shaped candle for a birthday.

I also offer some educational materials that I use during teaching as well as other decorations I simply love making in my shop as well.

In the next year I hope to increase the variety in my shop further and spend more time creating than ever before.

Thanks for stopping by,
Jess

If there is damage to an item please contact me within 24 hours after receiving the item in the post. I will then contact the postal services. Please be patient during this process as sometimes the complaints procedure is long.

In case of return, the buyer will remain responsible for the cost of shipping the item through an insured postal method.
