I'm a woman who makes jewelry out of METAL and BRAWN. That's what kind of woman I am.
Mein Vater ist Juwelier, also fing er an, mir beizubringen, wie man Schmuck herstellt, bevor ich überhaupt lesen oder schreiben konnte. Als ich aufwuchs, rebellierte ich gegen die Ermutigung meiner Eltern (wie die meisten Kinder) und hörte auf, Schmuck herzustellen, verzweifelt, um meinen eigenen Weg in dieser Welt zu finden.
Schneller Vorlauf durch mein Leben und ich endete mit einem Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA), einem Master of Business Administration (MBA) und fünf soliden Jahren, in denen ich schnell die Karriereleiter hinaufstieg und für ein großes Luft- und Raumfahrtunternehmen arbeitete. Meine Karriere nahm Fahrt auf; Beförderungen und Möglichkeiten gab es in Hülle und Fülle. Trotzdem stellte ich oft den Erfolg meines Unternehmensweges in Frage...

Ich ging ein Risiko für mich selbst ein und kündigte meine Karriere in der Luft- und Raumfahrt (und letztendlich im korporativen Amerika insgesamt), um zu meinen Wurzeln zurückzukehren und ein Leben zu führen, in dem ich LEBEN konnte, um zu ARBEITEN, anstatt einfach zu arbeiten, um zu leben.
Ich brauchte fast 30 Jahre, um zu erkennen, dass ich wusste, was ich tun wollte, seit ich ein kleines Mädchen war. Seien wir ehrlich... Ich komme immer etwas zu spät zur Party. Aber das Wichtigste ist, dass ich hier bin. Und ich bin bereit, die Party zu beginnen.
My father is a jeweler so he started teaching me how to make jewelry before I could even read or write. As I grew up, I rebelled against the encouragement of my parents (as most kids do) and stopped making jewelry, desperate to find my own way in this world.
Fast forward through my life and I ended up with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration (BSBA), a Masters of Business Administration (MBA), and five solid years rapidly climbing the corporate ladder working for a major aerospace manufacturing company. My career was taking off; promotions and opportunities were aplenty. Despite that, I often found myself questioning the success of my corporate path...
"I wonder what kind of success I would have if I was actually PASSIONATE about what I was doing?!"
I took a risk on myself and quit my career in aerospace (and ultimately, corporate America altogether) in order to go back to my roots and pursue a life in which allowed me to LIVE to WORK instead of simply working to live.
It took me nearly 30 years to realize that I've known what I wanted to do since I was a little girl. Let's be honest, though... I'm always a little late to the party. But the important thing is that I'm here. And I'm ready to get the party started.
