My mama always told me that growing up, my grandfather would affectionately call her a sassafrass whenever she was acting particularly spirited.

Naturally, and as it usually goes, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree and so I was also gifted the nickname ‘miss sassfrass’ by my mama for that very same reason.

Of course, the tradition continues and just as it should. I now have two daughters, the very littlest of all the sassafrasses and they are MAGIC makers.
