Announcement   Greetings, my lovely customers! If you've been following me for a while you may have noticed that I have undergone a slight overhaul in stylistic approach. I have recently begun changing the style of jewelry I want to work with. Wire wrapping is great unto itself but no longer interests me. I have been growing as a metal artist as of late adding new techniques buying new equipment and honing my design aesthetic.

I really love rocks and stones and I am intrigued by the forms and shades that nature provides as well as amazing man made materials such as Fordite and Dichroic glass. My education and professional experience as an interior designer also plays a hand in this journey as I am a fan of modern and natural/ organic design elements. These elements make their way into my work quite often and are the cornerstone of what I am aiming for in my designs. As I continue to grow stylistically you will see lots of subtle nuances in the pieces I produce. Thanks for following me and continuing with your support in this journey!

Love,
Misty :)

About

Metal art jewelry using silver, gold, Fordite, glass and stone.

Hello and thank you for checking out Misty Evans Design!
The history of my love of jewelry design goes back to when I was 12 Years old. My mom had sent off for a jewelry making kit that had small seed beads and a pattern for making Apache style earrings. I followed the directions and- Voila- a pair of earrings how cool! Many years later the same love of jewelry design was awakened in me by a teaching mentor when I was going through the Art Teaching Certification program at UTSA. She was a very skilled beader and had many ensembles of jewelry she had made that matched her outfits. She encouraged me to pick it back up so I began to make jewelry for the purpose of bridal sets in 2005 while I was simultaneously working at an Interior Design firm in San Antonio.
Then after moving to Austin in 2008 I got serious and have loved exploring and expanding my skills in metal smithing, wire wrapping and the development of my design footprint. My styles continue to evolve as I learn and pick up new skills along the way. I enjoy this so much and I am always humbled when my buyers decide to make a piece of my art their own!
