Item is better than I expect with a really good job integrating the lining with the outside rubber tubes. Love this bag, you can choose your own zipper color and a different color for the lining. Would really like an option for a larger size zipper bag. Also really fast delivery. Thanks.

Making a bunch of super colorful keyring wallets. I enjoy getting to mix and match however I want, and you can choose your own colors too!
Getting ready to make a heap o' dopp kits for a wholesale client in Colorado
Once or twice a month I run out of prepped tubes and have to spend half a day at home prepping another load. It's probably my least favorite task and I'm always excited to sort the clean tubes and get back to work

About

Giving Old Bike Tubes a New Reputation

The story:
Moab Bag Company is a one woman operation born in 2013 with the goal of creating practical goods from recycled and salvaged materials. All products are handmade one at a time in Moab, Utah using recycled bike tubes sourced from local bike shops.

Late 2012: I moved to Moab with no plans and no employment, but a strong yearning to create. My new roommate invited me to go yard sale-ing, impulsively I bought a sewing machine, having no idea that I just made one of the most influential purchases of my life. A series of events led to me making a crude set of panniers using old bike tubes I'd scavenged at the neighborhood bike shop. I immediately realized I had stumbled onto an idea for a product that folks might love. First I made wallets, then pouches, then a whole series of other bags, some that sold, some that didn't. All of a sudden, I had a business and people were excited about what I was doing. My lack of plans or employment turned out to be a boon, this allowed me to explore an exciting new possibility. Over four years later I'm still looking forward. I'm feeling wiser, smarter, more experienced and still excited to be making cool products from recycled materials that people love.

A NOTE: All the bike tubes I use are rescued from old tube piles at bike shops in Moab, Utah. I cut them up in my backyard, give them a thorough washing, and dry 'em on the line. When cleaned, bike tube rubber has a surprising, supple feel, and like leather, it is durable, flexible and strong. Unlike leather, it is easy to clean and care for. There is a slight rubber smell, but you really have to put your nose up to it to notice. All bike tubes have white factory markings and a few have patches added by their previous owners; so each bag or wallet comes with its own secret story for you to ponder over!
