About

From Collector to Picker to Swing Dancing to Vintage Shop Owner

I always loved vintage. As a contemporary dancer I identified with Ginger Rogers and thought I should have been born in the 1930s. The wide leg, flowing pants from that era and the long bias cut gowns that Ginger Rogers wore to dance in just made my heart flutter.

I was eclectic though and my fashion sense picked up unique items from many eras and current fashions and mashed them all together. Being able to take a 1980s dress and pair it with a 1930s hat and contemporary combat boots made me happy.

I was a picker for a number of small vintage stores in the midwest for a brief while, continuing to grow my own vintage collection. When I began swing dancing in 2008 I saw that many dancers were into recreating vintage looks from the 20s through the 50s. When some friends and I started our swing dance, Jam Circle, I brought vintage to sell to the dancers.

That was the beginning and now I sell here on Etsy as well as in person at Swing Remix and a few other Swing Dance Events here in NYC (Jam Circle is defunct).

I hope you like my finds and they fit creatively into your wardrobe making you feel as unique as you already are.

I have a lifetime love of vintage clothing and household items. I wear and use them in my daily life, deriving great pleasure from these small connections to past eras. It's wonderful to see the changes in design through the 20th Century. It feeds the intellect to understand a period's design influences and to see design connections between eras, art forms and cultures. Today we can be creative by blending items from different eras to make our own eclectic style. What better reason to have beautiful vintage objects in your daily life? These items are meant to be worn and used, loved and cared for, and, most of all, mixed in with your contemporary lifestyle.

I accept Paypal and personal checks. If sending a personal check I will wait 3-7 days for the check to clear before shipping your item.
Shipping
General Shipping Policies:
I ship first class, parcel post and priority mail, using those that offer the lowest rates for that item. If you think shipping could be lower to your area send me a message with your address and I can explore other options. I am happy to make shipping more affordable if possible.

Combined Shipping:
I am happy to combine shipping costs for two or more items. In general, shipping more than one item together is very cost effective for you. My shipping profiles for clothing generally include a price for a second item. For three or more items you would need to message me with the items you would like to purchase and I can figure out the shipping costs.

Shipping costs on household items vary so widely that I can't include a second item cost in the listing. Please message me if one or more of the items you would like to purchase is a household item. Some items may be too bulky to ship together economically. Send me your address and I can research a combined shipping rate.
Refunds and Exchanges
These are vintage items and include some wear and tear as noted in the listing. That being said, I will accept returns within 3 days of receipt only if it is not as described. Original packaging must be used, return shipping cost is the responsibility of the buyer and there will be a 15% restocking fee. If you desire, the original purchase price can be put toward other item(s) as a credit and there will be no restocking fee.
