Hi there, Etsy! Carlos from Modernist Press here. Since I can remember, I've always loved to draw. According my Mom, I was constantly making drawings as a child (mostly action heroes), usually using a pencil and stacks of typewriter paper. My first formal training in the arts came when I was accepted to The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston Texas in 1990. Attending that school was a great time, and being around other artists my age really accelerated my development. In high school I was very fond of expressionist painting and mixed media collage, each approach on both small and large scales. I studied fine art at The Cooper Union in New York City, and Graphic Design at the University of Houston. I still remain very passionate about both disciplines of art and graphic design. You can see those two interests reflected in the items in this shop, which vary from graphic-based products to hand executed art. I hope you enjoy what you see here. Feel free to send any feedback or observations you have! I'd love to hear from you.
