Dust is in my blood
I’ve been vending on Etsy since 2007, initially selling vintage dressmaking patterns, fabrics, and sewing notions. A few years later, my Etsy shop evolved into a venue for selling my art and jewelry pieces that I had been exhibiting at various sci-fi and fannish events.
At this time, I don’t have a formal studio space of my very own to showcase here. Rather, I have a crowded spare bedroom filled with an intricately chaotic hoard of Mason jars, canisters, and bins containing all manner of bits and bobs for arting. Nifty…but not so photogenic. I am also an active member of Milwaukee Makerspace, so I *do* have a (huge!) collective studio of sorts, shared with numerous other artisans working in a diverse range of mediums.
As you may have noticed while exploring my shop, I’m fond of mementos and memorials to the past. I’m particularly fascinated with remembrances of the deceased, ranging from Victorian hairwork and mourning jewelry to Dia de Muertos ofrendas . My focus is not on grief, but rather celebration and preservation of memories, lest they be lost to time. This desire to document and salvage is present throughout my work, with the majority of my pieces containing repurposed or recreated materials.

An odd Midwestern grrl, prone to wandering secondhand shops and contemplating how things may be taken apart and made into other things.
