Trial and Error Lead to Moments of Art

Moments of Art has been a long-time dream in the making.

I've tried a lot of different things...administrative, insurance sales, personnel management...hated them all. I truly believe life is lived in the Small Moments, and my small moments were being eaten up doing things I didn't want to be doing eight hours a day. But I trudged on, without realizing what I was truly meant to do.

Then a few years ago, I got sick. I continued to work, but the stress only made my condition worse. And eventually, I had to accept that I could no longer work in the corporate world because of my health.

So I had to look for something else. Fortunately, I have a loving, supportive husband with the patience of a saint, who has put up with me trying several different things while I figured it out. Because I tried a lot of things that didn't work out.

At first I was going to work as an administrative assistant from home--not much call for that where I live. Then I decided to make bridal accessories--great idea, just not the right one for me. Then I tried selling Avon--again, not the right fit for me. I didn't know what I was going to do.

Then in April 2012, we got a new sofa. I know...you weren't expecting that, but there's a reason for telling you about getting a new sofa. Because of the new sofa, I decided I wanted some new art for above it. I wanted something original, and it need to fill a large space, but for the first time in my life, I was not living in a space where I had room to paint a large canvas.

I had to get creative, and I did. Instead of one large piece, I decided to do a gallery wall of twelve original pieces. I used public domain images of vintage flowers and herbs to create original art of my own, and I loved them! But it didn't end there. Everyone who came to our house loved them, and I was constantly asked where I got those beautiful prints. When I told them I made them, I was always told I should make more and sell them.

That was the spark that created the idea for Moments of Art.

Everything in life happens for a reason. Everything that's happened to me has led me to where I am. Some things forced me to re-evaluate, other things encouraged me to look for something new, and others inspired me with the idea. All of them played a part in the opening of Moments of Art.

I want you to be absolutely thrilled with your purchase. Please contact me immediately after receiving your item if there is a problem.

If items are damaged in shipping, please send me a picture of the damaged items, and I will happily send a replacement print at no cost to you.

I will only accept returns when contacted within 14 days of delivery. Returns must be authorized by me before you mail the items back. Refunds will be processed when the original items have been returned.

I am one of the few shops that accept returns for custom items. You must contact me within 14 days of delivery to initiate the return. All returns must be authorized by me before you mail the items back. Refunds, less a $15 customization fee, will be processed when the original items have been returned.

You are responsible for the return shipping cost. If the items are not returned in the original condition, you are responsible for any loss in value.

Communication is key, so please keep me informed. I'm very reasonable, and I will treat you the way I would want to be treated.
Payment
I accept all major credit cards and Etsy gift certificates.

Payment is due at time of purchase, and processing will begin once your payment has cleared. Processing time is 1-2 weeks.
Shipping
I ship via USPS First Class Mail within the U.S.

International shipping rates and times vary. Buyer is responsible for any customs and duty charges incurred for international orders. I complete all forms for international shipments accurately and honestly. International shipments are not eligible to be shipped as a gift. The price of the item will be included on the customs forms and on the packing slip.

All packages are shipped in stay-flat mailers to keep your art piece safe and secure during shipping. For added protection, your print will be packaged in a clear protective sleeve with backing board within the mailer. Prints too large for a stay-flat mailer will be rolled and shipped in a mailing tube.

Insurance is included.
Additional policies and FAQs
Every print sold at Moments of Art is an original art piece created by me using various artistic formats and printed on archival art quality paper with archival inks.

Except for Artist Proofs, all prints are printed by me when ordered. I personally ensure that the colors correct and match the original. If ordering an Artist Proof, understand that the colors may not be exactly correct, but it will be good quality and beautiful. I do not sell Artist Proofs that I do not considered good quality.

Requests for customization are an additional $15. Please contact me before placing a custom order so a custom listing can be created just for you.

Colors may vary, due to monitor calibration. Not every monitor displays color the same way. My monitor is calibrated to show my art the way I envision it, and my printer is calibrated to print my art the way it is displayed on my monitor. I cannot guarantee the colors will print the same as they are displayed on your monitor. Colors will be correct to the original artwork.
Privacy
To fulfill your order, you must provide me with certain information (which you authorized Etsy to provide to me), such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom order, for example) if you contact me directly.

I rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:

* as needed to provide my services, such as when I use your information to fulfill your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;

* when you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time, such as by signing up for my mailing list;

Is your hair natural?

I don't know why I get this question so often, but yes, my hair is naturally curly and I don't color it.

Custom and personalized orders

There are a few of my pieces that can be customized. I've added names and wedding dates, changed the background, and printed in different sizes. I charge $15 extra to do customization. I will set up a custom listing for you for the $15, which you will have to purchase before I do any work on customization. Then I will send you pictures so you can see the customization before you purchase. Once you're happy, I'll make another custom listing for you to order your print. The customization charge is not refundable; however, I do accept returns as per my return policies on custom work.

Are Frames Included

Frames are not included. Each print is shipped ready to frame, so you can match the decor of your own home.

How should I care for my print?

Even though your print is made from the high-quality paper and inks, it is still susceptible to fading if exposed to sunlight and some artificial lighting. It is best to have it professionally framed with a mat to protect it from the elements, and hang it out of direct sunlight. Your print was created for indoor display only. With proper framing and care, your new print should give you many years of enjoyment.
