I have been a member of Etsy as well as a shop owner since 2010. I am truly enjoying this adventure as an independent owner and creator. I take a great deal of pride in my work and love to create things that make a smile.
I was taught how to knit and crochet when I was very young but drifted from it for a long time. I only started knitting again a few years ago after I had my second open heart surgery. It was something I could do that was very calming, until I started to work with written patterns. I found I had trouble understanding what they were trying to explain, so I began writing my own. First with simple instructions and then I took it more seriously and began designing. My men's loafer was the first pattern I wrote and I have been on a roll ever since. It turned out that I designed my slippers to "hug" your feet with a supportive arch. I now offer slippers for all ages in many different styles.
When I can, I love to create needle felted designs on my finished slippers. I start with a simple idea in my head and then let my hand do the rest. I love to watch the design take shape.
What I like most about my patterns is that I include many options from one pattern. For example, all of my slipper patterns include instructions to create several different sizes and widths, that way you can create for several people from one pattern. I offer felted knit, knitting and crochet pdf patterns that are an instant download and on my blog, I like to share tips and instructions on how to create a certain look. I am also here for you if you have any questions when working with one of my patterns ~ I am always happy to help.
I also love to create art. I have been creating qwerky artwork since I was little and I worked as a production assistant before becoming a Mom. Now as my children are grown, I am learning to reinvent myself and adjust to a more independent lifestyle. I have had my artwork displayed at Vogue Knitting Live in Chicago and many of my designs are featured on my family and friends as custom tattoos.
Please visit often so you can see what new pieces have been created, you just never know what you might find ~ all my best, Monique
