LOVE my new table. It looks amazing! I could not be more pleased. He provided personalized service, he answered all of my questions/concerns and he was super easy to work with on this project. It came out exactly the way I wanted and delivery was easy too! I would definitely recommend and look forward to working with him again-hope to order a matching bench soon ;)

About

A mom and pop handmade furniture shop based in southern California.

"If I was a carpenter, and you were a lady, would you marry me anyway?" - Johnny Cash

We are a husband and wife who like to build our own furniture and then share our designs with you.

Land of Monk and Honey began in 2010 when we moved back to southern California after working as pastors for 7 years in London, England. We arrive back in California with a recession in full swing and jobs few and far between. We now had 3 kids and another on the way, so we decided to become each other's bosses instead.

Since we left most of our possessions in the UK we needed furniture for our small home. Pamela would come up with a 'Honey Do List" along with some killer design ideas and I (Monk) would start building with the little tools and materials we had at the time. We took some photos of our newly made furniture then posted it on Etsy. We are still gratefully amazed at what has happened since this early days. We recently shipped our first International order of 24 desks to a school Tokyo, Japan.

Land of Monk and Honey is our day to day dream of living creatively with each other and our 4 children. They see the whole hands on process up close as we do home school and home business together as part of everyday life around here.

We are thankful and excited for what we get to do and make everyday. We treat our customers like good friends and aim to maintain the same simple work + life recipe that got us started. Thanks for taking the time to browse our shop.
