Gran parte dei miei materiali sono di provenienza locale e hanno una seconda vita nei miei prodotti! Denim riproposto e tessuti vintage per le pochette con cerniera. Spartiti vintage, atlanti National Geographic e guide sul campo vintage sono materiale per le ghirlande di carta. Gli strofinacci del calendario vintage sono materiale per i miei ornamenti di uccelli unici nel loro genere. Le magliette trovano nuova vita come zaini unici. Gli striscioni promozionali della birra riproposti donati da un bar locale vengono trasformati in utili borse per kit da barba!
Quando creo le buste con cerniera, cucio prima le linee di carta del taccuino, poi ricamo a mano le parole in corsivo o in stampatello, e poi cucio la busta con cerniera. Quando realizzo i miei prodotti è come una meditazione attraverso la ripetizione che mi piace moltissimo!

Il mio banner è un collage che ho creato partendo dalle fotografie che ho scattato alla segnaletica di Montclair.
Nel 2008 ho aperto il mio primo negozio Etsy chiamato Copabananas. Prende il nome dal mio negozio fisico di forniture per feste che ho posseduto per 10 anni a Montclair, dal 1998 al 2008.

Claire from Montclair...I grew up in Montclair, NJ, went away for college, and returned.
Now I combine the skills I learned as a Weaving and Textile Design major at Rochester Institute of Technology with a big dose of pop culture and a sense of humor.
The listings in my shop fuse nostalgia with sustainability to create signature products that are Montclair Made!
Much of my materials are locally sourced and given a second life in my products! Repurposed denim and vintage fabrics for the zipper pouches. Vintage sheet music, National Geographic atlases, and vintage field guides are material for the paper garlands. Vintage calendar tea towels are material for my one-of-a-kind bird ornaments. Tshirts find new life as unique back packs. Repurposed beer promo banners donated from a local bar are transformed into utilitarian shaving kit bags!
When I create the zipper pouches I sew the notebook paper lines first, then I hand embroider the cursive or block letter words, and then I sew the zipper pouch. When I make my products it's like a meditation through repetition that I thoroughly enjoy!
