About

A little bit about us

My name is Sherry Nelson, I'm a 38 year old crafter at heart. I created this store because I love making stuff!! I came up with Moonlighting For Fun because I work full-time but in my free time I love to craft! My husband and I are devoted to making and selling quality, unique handmade items. I specialize in the useful, practical and just cute stuff you can't find anywhere else unless you know someone who sews.

I also enjoy finding vintage fabrics, sewing notions, and buttons, and I sometimes use these vintage materials to make modern day products, which I think is very cool, retro and I'm up-cycling old materials.

Here at Moonlighting For Fun we take customer satisfaction very seriously. We promise your happiness otherwise we will do what we can to come to a resolution.

Frequently asked questions
Why does it cost more for a custom order?

Since we are so far away, I will need you to chose your fabrics online, that means that I will need to order the fabric and pay shipping. This will add to the cost of supplies, where I would normally buy fabrics in my area. If you are local to me, let me know.

How long does it take (total time) for a custom order?

It all depends on our communication times and where the fabric is purchased. Once you know you want a custom order, purchase it, then we will begin talking about what kind(s) of fabric you want. Once I know the fabric, I can order it. They will give me an estimated time of delivery and I will let you know that date. Once I get the fabric in my hands, I can start making the product, and of course I will let you know. Making the product can take 1-3 days depending on what you've ordered. I will send it out the next business day and then you will know what the estimated time of delivery is based on USPS.

Where would I look for fabric?

I personally recommend Missouri Quilt Company. However, any websites you find what you want is okay with me. Even check on Etsy, you never know what you'll find.

Gift wrapping and packaging

All my handmade items come with a beautiful tag that states its handmade and provides care instructions. Then it is placed in a plastic product bag and sealed. When you order your product, I will wrap it in brown kraft paper with cotton string and a label. This will be placed inside the bubble mailer or box with your packing slip. I do not treat craft supplies or vintage items in the same way unless it is going to be a gift, then you need to mark it as a gift.
