***AUGUST BIRTHSTONE - PERIDOT***
Think of peridot as the "vacation stone", putting one in a happy mindset of fun and relaxation. It is a healing stone and used for protection, especially when traveling.

***SEPTEMBER BIRTHSTONE - SAPPHIRE***
A rare gem representing unity, joy and loyalty, it’s no wonder sapphire is a popular stone for wedding jewelry. It is used to aid in mental clarity and, like most blue gems, stimulates the throat chakra for more effective communication.

***************
I always use gemstones that are as natural as possible, avoiding dyed and reconstituted stones when I can, and I never use fake gems, glass or plastic beads. The metals used in my jewelry are sterling silver, pure silver, gold fill and pure copper. What you're buying will always be clearly stated in the descriptions.

I have a passion for gemstones; for their beauty and for their healing energy. I'm also a detail girl and take as much time as I need to create each piece with loving care and an appropriate amount of perfectionism. I am particular about my "ingredients" because I care very much about what I do and I believe that each piece will, in time, go to the person it's exactly right for.

About

Love what you live, live what you love.

I love being creative, especially for other people - it's not just jewelry. I love to knit and crochet, I've been a photographer for 20 years and counting, I carve wood....if it involves patience, working with my hands and ending up with something cool, count me in!

As far as Moonstar Charms goes, my interest in gemstones started when I was about 10 years old when my dad took me to a gemstone superstore of sorts where I could get tumbled stones and jewelry components for pocket change. Now that I’m “grown up”, I found myself inclined to rehash my study, this time on gemstone healing properties and folk lore. I quickly began to find common threads in the stones – green stones were often used for healing, red stones often related to the lower chakras, etc. I'm constantly educating myself in the properties of gemstones through research and meditation.

Being involved in Chi Kung healing arts for more than a decade, I’ve spent lots of time talking to folks about what they have in uncomfortable excess (like stress or pounds) and what they feel they are lacking in life (like peace or fulfillment). These conversations combined with my love of jewelry inspired me to start making wear-able reminders to help people find their highest self.

I'm a bit of a puritan when it comes to materials so I tend to avoid man-made stones and dyed or enhanced gemstones. Sometimes that's not possible since certain gems are almost always altered: bleaching pearls, heating garnet, stabilizing turquoise. But you can rest assured that everything is as natural as possible. My listings will always be clear when I end up using enhanced stones and/or filled metals.

I feel like I just took a fun idea and gave it a try and a company was born. One order of stones turned into countless, stuff is selling and I’m having a blast. I think about what a piece is meant to do for the wearer as I handle the stones and wire wrap them, string them, attach them to each other. I love to help people and this is one incredibly enjoyable way of doing it.

Besides…jewelry is fun and pretty, it makes us feel fun and pretty when we wear it. That alone has healing power.
