But what exactly is it with Ankara?
Ankara prints have become a thing as far back as the 1800s. Originally of Dutch origin and designed for Indonesian markets, the batik-styled fabric nested and found a home in Nigeria, then later to Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire. From there, it laid eggs and spread to the rest of Africa.

Ankara is a 100% cotton fabric with shades of vibrant patterns and awesomeness. Now, the fabrics have become a worldwide sensation evolving from the traditional patterns of West African fabric into contemporary fashion items in Europe and the U.S.
