About

Morning Glorious Vintage, a Vintage Clothing and Jewelry Emporium

I'm Jen and I've been wearing vintage since I was 14 - back then, my closet was full of my mother's 1940's dresses! 15 years ago I started this business to share my vintage clothing and jewelry finds. We've been part of Etsy since 2008. With my husband Vince, we opened another Etsy shop for our menswear collection, MisterBibs Vintage. We ran a 'brick and mortar' shop which was selected as one of the "Top Ten Best Small Vintage Shops" in the USA by "USA Today." We have been featured by Vogue and Elle, and are proud to be long time juried members of the Vintage Fashion Guild. We have provided garments for TV series, Hollywood film and regional theater productions.

We live in an 1850s Vermont farmhouse and work in a studio on our property which holds our office, warehouse, and our vintage showroom open to visitors by appointment. We're fortunate that here in New England we find incredible treasures tucked away in closets and attics, just waiting for their new lives. We have 1000s of pieces in inventory that aren't listed (yet!) online. If you're seeking something, let us know, we may already have what you are looking for.

When selecting merchandise for the shop, I choose beautiful, visually striking, well made garments, and it's all about color, pattern, texture, print and proportion. We love the remarkable details in things made in the past, and we hope you enjoy our finds, too!

Thank you for shopping with Morning Glorious! We offer you unique garments and accessories that are in great condition and are fairly priced. We mend, clean and steam our items before listing them. Any flaws or prior repairs are noted in the item description.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
  • Other Method
Payment
We accept Etsy Direct Checkout where you can safely use the payment method of your choice including all credit cards and PayPal, and we accept Etsy gift cards. (Please only use the 'Other" payment option, available during checkout, when you are an approved LAYAWAY customer, thank you.)

If you'd like us to HOLD an item for you, we can do that for 48 hours without a down payment. Reserves of longer than 48 hours require a non-refundable deposit of 33% of the item price. We also offer LAYAWAY on items over $100 with a similar 33% deposit and a conveniently scheduled payment plan! Items priced between $100-$200 may be purchased on Layaway with a 2 week payment plan - you simply pay the 33% deposit to hold your purchase, pay us another 33% in a week, and pay the balance due in 2 weeks time. Items priced $200-$500 may be purchased with a 1 month payment plan, and items priced over $500 are eligible for a 2 month Layaway plan. Just convo us to set it up!
Shipping
We will ship your order within 1-2 business days of receiving payment (unless we are away on a buying trip, in which case you will be notified of any shipping delay). We generally do not ship on weekends. If you need your order expedited, please convo us or write an order note with your request.

Orders are sent the most economical way, by 1st class or Priority US Mail. We're sorry but we are not able to ship with other carriers.

We are happy to ship internationally! But we can not falsify a US Customs form, it is illegal to do so. Please do not ask us to declare your purchase is a gift, or that it sold for a lesser amount, to avoid Customs fees. US sellers may face fines and penalties for lying on a Customs form.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS, PLEASE NOTE -- You are responsible for paying any applicable customs fees or import taxes in your own country which might be associated with receiving your Etsy purchase! The UK, in particular, charges VAT (value added tax) to you, to receive your imported item. Please be aware of these potential charges which are independent of Etsy and not in any way under our control.
Refunds and Exchanges
Our vintage items are TRUE vintage, meaning at least 20 years or older, have usually been worn before, and are therefore sold "AS-IS" and as described. However, if you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason, please get in touch with us by Etsy convo or email and let us know what the problem may be (please do so, before leaving us an Etsy review!) We are experienced sellers who care about excellent customer service. We will work with you to the best of our ability.

Please note that colors may look different on different monitors and mobile devices. Please feel free to ask us questions or request more details or photos before purchasing.

We provide garment measurements according to standard tailoring methods, so please know your own body measurements -- and remember, a garment needs to be bigger than you are, so you can move and breathe in it. For example, if your waist is 28 inches, a cotton (non stretch) dress should measure 30 inches in the waist, so you can bend, turn, sit, and are comfy wearing it! Often, vintage sizes on labels are not comparable to modern sizes. Waists, shoulders and arm holes may seem tiny and vintage shoes could run narrow. Feel free to ask us questions in advance to be sure of fit.

We have ONLY ONE of each item! We estimate size to the best of our ability, but always go by the garment measurements provided to determine a good fit.

When we agree to process a return, we take each on a case by case basis - please do not assume you can simply ship back your item. We reserve the right to charge up to a 20% restocking fee when we agree to a return, to cover any costs for us associated with re-listing (such as having an item cleaned before returning it to inventory). Our shop tags MUST still be attached to the garment when it is sent back, and authorized returns must be sent to us within 3 days of your receipt (the delivery confirmation date). We do not refund shipping unless we made a significant mistake or oversight in the item listing. The customer always pays for return shipping. Some items may only be exchanged for STORE CREDIT and not for money back, and this is always at our discretion. For health code reasons, we can not accept returns on swimwear, lingerie, and certain types of jewelry such as earrings for pierced ears. Items returned with damage or new signs of "wear and tear" will not be eligible for a refund. Items purchased on Layaway are also not returnable.

We describe any flaws noted in the Item Details, and rate garment condition from 1) Poor/Distressed to Fair, 2) Good 3) Very Good, 4) Excellent.

Most POOR to FAIR items will only be offered if they are being sold as a study piece, cutter, or fashion design example.

DISTRESSED means very worn, but still desirable as a fashion statement (ripped, torn, faded, in a good way!)

GOOD condition means the piece is wearable but may have issues such as prior repairs or stains that will be identified in the listing.

VERY GOOD means there may be light overall signs of prior wear, but it is still very presentable.

EXCELLENT condition means it's really great, it looks pristine, we don't find any flaws at all.

DEADSTOCK or NOS (New Old Stock) means the item was never worn or still retains original maker's sales tags. Deadstock items may still have flaws that occurred to the item while in storage.

Vintage clothing, by its nature, often has little imperfections or signs of wear which are not considered major flaws. Jewelry may show some tarnish or patina. Shoes may have light scuffs or show wear on the soles. Our items have a rich history and may be 25, 50 or 100 years old. They are REAL vintage, and they are wearable and have character, but they are NOT the same as NEW or reproduction items.

We provide details for you on our inventory based on our 15 + years of handling thousands of items. We test jewelry metals for gold and silver purity, and we consult with two certified gemologists to accurately describe gemstones.
