These arrived quickly, and what a beautiful pair of earrings! The unboxing was a delight, as they were beautifully wrapped and came in a pretty little cloth pouch. There was even a thank you note for the purchase inviting a return if I wasn't satisfied -- no thanks! Totally satisfied! These earrings are so colorful and lovely, they sparkle beautifully and are somewhere between a galaxy and a flower. I bought these as a gift for one of my bridesmaids, and I can't wait to give them to her! The seller was very responsive and I couldn't be happier with the transaction. I'll be favoriting this shop for future gift ideas, and maybe something for myself :)

Working on Tropical Fish Ornaments in the studio today. This one is just about finished, it still needs a tail fin!
Blue Moon Implosion Cabichons
I made all of these using the same glass and different torch settings. Notice how the one on the left is lighter than the one on the right.. the glass changes depending on fuel, temperature and heat saturation. Cool huh?

About

Through the Fire: A Glass Artists Journey

I Started using glass as a medium while living on Maui, Hawaii. It has taken me on the most delightful journey for more than 20 years. I've set up shop in my own garage, followed the craft/art fair circuits, taught students, worked in galleries, been a part of art societies and owned a Fine Art Gallery of my own for a brief period of time. , . I now enjoy working in my home studio in South Carolina.. spending time with my four rescue dogs, and hiking Utah / New Mexico with my husband who is also my best friend.

I'm starting something new in 2016. For many years I have wanted to use metals with my glass.. especially silver.. I am just starting to mix Fine Silver with my Implosion Cabochons to create jewelry that will express freedom, movement, and shapes duplicated from Nature. Here are some of the Cabochon and Sterling Silver Earring Studs I recently Created.

I am so blessed to live where I live and enjoy all the Whimsical, Organic Shapes found in nature right here on my property. I find Inspiration for my art all around me. It is in the morning dew glistening on the grass, the movement of the river that flows in my back yard, and the intricate patterns of the tiny wild flowers that nestle in the meadow pasture.

You can find my Scuba Diver Ornaments @Artful Home during the Christmas Season, Various Sculptures featured in the Flow Magazine and also in my Etsy Store.

I want my work to be a reflection of my life and how I choose to live it .. Calm, Peaceful and surrounded by Nature. I certainly have not arrived at the Holy Grail of Glass yet, but, I work hard, have fun and laugh often. I want to enjoy every bit of this journey!!

Glass is one of the most beautifully challenging of all the mediums I have worked with.. It's also very addicting.. There is something so captivating about the feel of it, at the end of my rod, in it's molten state, dancing in the flame of my torch.

Frequently asked questions

How Do you Protect the Glass For Shipping?

All my Sculptures come wrapped in Tissue Paper as a first layer, then bubble wrap as a second layer and possibly peanuts or shredded paper as a third layer then properly placed in a protective box that will ensure the item arrives in perfect condition to the customer.

Care instructions

Use a soft, lint free cloth and your favorite glass cleaner to make your sculpture shine! Or try Eco friendly white vinegar, that's what I use!
