About

Hi! My name is Heather. I have a beautiful little blue eyed girl named Autumn, and my husband is in the Coast Guard. The name of my shop, Moss & Lace Design, was inspired by where we lived for four years on the coast of Oregon. Beautiful, vibrant green moss carpets the ground, trees, and rocks (thanks to the winter rains), and ferns are abundant. Lacy, delicate ferns. (And...I enjoy incorporating lace into my designs.) We have recently moved to beautiful Sitka, Alaska. I continue to be inspired by the rainforests that cover much of this island in southeast Alaska.
I began creating dreamcatchers when I decided that a magical dreamcatcher was the last touch Autumn's nursery needed. The fact that I could create something so special myself was a wonderful feeling. I loved making dreamcatchers so much that I began making them as gifts for friends and family. The process of wrapping, weaving, and creating a uniquely beautiful piece makes me so happy. Eventually, I thought...how amazing would it be to be able to create these for people as a business?? And thus, my shop was born.
I hope my creations speak to you and bring a beautifulness to your home that you absolutely love!
Legend of the Dreamcatcher:
Once upon a time...dreamcatchers originated as a way to capture unwanted dreams. Air would carry the dreams, earth would hold the dreams within her hoop, water would separate the dreams, the desired from the undesired, and fire would make use of the sun in the morning to burn up the unwanted dreams caught in the delicate web. Only good dreams were allowed to pass through the center opening of the dreamcatcher. I hope that my dreamcatchers bring you and yours the sweetest of dreams!
xoxo,
Heather
