Distinctive Hats, A Little Off Kilter Long Stocking Caps, Jester and Costume Hats
First some answers to some questions you might have.
Does Mountaingoth do custom work?
Yes, I do make custom hats, if you see a hat you like but it is the wrong size, color length, please contact me and we can see if we can work something out. I keep over 500 bolts of fabric on hand so I can generally have a quick turn around.
I need more then what is showing in available inventory, can I get more?
Please contact me, I can often provide more of any style, I make all these myself and I keep the materials on hand to make more.
What fabrics do you work with?
I mainly work with cotton jersey, cotton fleece, cotton flannel, polyester fleece, sherpa, faux fur, and stretch velvets. I do keep these fabrics on hand.
Can I change the trim on the hat?
Yes you can, I don't attach the trims till just prior to shipping, So you can change that pompom to a bell or a tassel, or even just leave it plain, there is an upcharge on some trims, just contact me.
Can I get the hat for a baby or small child?
I do not make hats for babies and young children. Fabrics for the really 3 and under group, need to be treated with a fire retardant, which my fabrics do not have this treatment. Also the pompom, bells and tassels are a choking hazard, so I've decided to stay out of this market.
How long does it take to ship out.
I strive to ship before the end of the next business day, however in the really busy seasons around Halloween and Christmas it might take a little longer. Custom work please ask.
Can I get overnight shipping?
Overnight shipping can be provided by Fed Ex. The US postal service does not offer overnight shipping. If you need it that quick, please contact me with the ship to address and whether or not it is a residential or commercial address, so I can get a quote.
Can I come visit your studio?
Currently, my studio is closed to the public due to Covid 19, however when that eases up, my studio will be open with a small showroom area. I am located at 127 Saranac St, Littleton, NH 03561 I do have many items in my studio that I do not sell on-line and hopeful this will pass soon, so you can come visit.
Do you offer a discount for large orders?
If you have an order for 10 items or more contact me and I maybe able to offer a small discount.
Onward to the MountainGoth story.
To describe MountainGoth Hats, the first word that pops into my head is whimsical. Lots of costume and traditional hats and caps. Distinctive hats slight off kilter.
MountainGoth hats are made in the studio located next to the Tannery Marketplace at 127 Saranac St in Littleton, NH. There is a hint of fairy magic in the air. If you find yourself in the area hiking, skiing, leaf peeping and see where the magic happens, love to have you stop by and say hi. This is a working studio.
Littleton is rapidly becoming a must stop for those looking for a quaint New England town with lots of artistic juju. It is frequently found in the top 10 of list for best small town.
It all started with a Jester Hat, many years ago (we aren't counting), it was Halloween season and I wanted to be a traditional black and white jester for the holiday. I looked all over and could not find a black and white or for that matter a black or a white jester hat anywhere. I even went to a couple of rennie faires looking for them. So I figured, I was on my own, I was going to figure out how to make a jester hat.
After spending a day with my lightly used sewing machine. I came up with a design. I had my black and white jester hat to complete my costume. Since then I've made and sold hundreds of Jester and other costume and traditional hats.
Mountaingoth hats have been used in many professional theatrical productions, A-list movies, lots of TV shows, professional sports times, the big theme parks, circuses and more, you've probably seen some of my hats.
If you are looking for that costume hat and just can't find it. Please convo me, I love working on new ideas and designs, some of my best hats started as a request from a customer when they couldn't find the hat they were looking for.
It has recently come to my attention that unscrupulous people are making knock off hats from my design and using my photos. Please be aware, unless the shop you are buying from is called MountainGoth, the hats are counterfeit, I take no responsibility if you buy my designs from another site from any shop other than Mountaingoth. I have spend years finding the best materials and perfecting the designs of my hats. No idea what you would get if you buy from a counterfeiter. There is one brick and mortar retailer that I work with out of New Orleans, The Fortress of Lushington.
Don't forget to check out my other shop at www.etsy/shop/knotwyrd for some crochet hat patterns.
Remember, never leave home without a little cash and a pointed hat.

Custom and personalized orders
Orders can be customized, changing a color or size or design. Orders can not personalized, do not have the proper equipment to add embroidery or vinyl.
Sizing details
Most of my hats can be made in any size you can get me a measurement for. I do not make hats for babies or small children, these ages have special laws for the materials an other trims that can be used. I have made hats large enough to fit the mascot costumes of teams. More generally I have made hats that fit those with extra large heads.
Most of the fabrics I use are stretch fabrics so there is a little give in the sizing.
For measurement, measure around where you want the bottom of the headband to fit.

What do I need to do to have a customized item?
First off, send me a conversation detailing what you want customized. A change to the size, color, trim, or a different design.
I will contact you back within 24 hours.
We then have a conversation about what can be done.
I have a huge studio with over 500 bolts of fabric, plus trims and yarn, so I can generally turn around in 2-3 days since supplies are on hand.
Once we have worked out the details, I will make the item. Send you photos.
Once I get your approval, will then create a custom listing and send you a link.
Once the item is paid for will ship.
If the customization is minor, like switching a pompom for a tassel, I may just have you purchase the existing item with a note to seller.
Bring me your ideas!
