Note from shop owner It is with bitter sweet emotion that I announce the closure of my shop January 1, 2018. I will be taking a leave of absence for a couple of years from the business. I do intend to eventually come back to Etsy because I love what I do and I know that my regular customers will not let me be gone too long! :-)
I will continue to sell my products while they last (and I do have a lot) at the A Borgata shop in Conifer CO. 27182 Main St #125, Conifer, CO 80433
Phone: (303) 653-6422

I'm filling each mold with the truffle ingredients. It's a two color layer so I've packed the blue layer down first then I pack the white layer. It creates a solid cake of goodness.
Freshly made soap! It will lighten in color as it cures. After about a week I will remove it from the molds and cut it. Then I will let it cure for another several weeks so it will be a harder bar of soap and last longer in the bath.

About

Making great bath products in the Rocky Mountains!

Mountain Lather is nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in a little town called Indian Hills at 7300ft elevation. My kitchen, where the bath product making magic happens, is surrounded by ponderosa pines and Gambel oak. It's an inspiring place to work and be close to nature.

After giving soap as gifts for every occasion, I started to get orders and requests. So I started my company Mountain Lather in 2014. Now my house is overflowing with curing bars of soap and the amazing mix of fragrances that they produce. I have also added new products including sugar scrubs, lotion, bath truffles and lotion bars.

With my soapmaking, I am especially interested in using traditional ingredients that have stood the test of time for the quality they lend a soap bar. There is so much that goes into the function, design, colors, texture and fragrances of each batch. Each handcrafted batch of 9-30 soaps takes about 3 hours to create and then an additional 4-6 weeks to cure. It's a slow process but well worth it for the end product is far superior to any commercial product.

Each soap is individually packaged in its own glassine wax bag with an attractive label. The bag is biodegradable and recyclable. I ship larger orders in a box with recycled shredded cardboard filler when possible. It's the little things that add up.

I started making soap obsessively after taking a class. I love to make soap, scrubs and more and have total control over the ingredients. I started my company to share my creations. What a wonderful and happy type of business to have.

I am passionate about making bath products with high quality ingredients that are good for your skin and your soul. I created Mountain Lather to specialize in handmade soaps and more, made in small batches and each unique and creative but ultimately extremely beneficial to your body. I want my products to be attractive and fun to use and I believe that even every day bath products like soaps can be beautiful!

Each item I make is a mini-work of art for me. I choose colors, molds and styles that fit my vision for the fragrance that I’m working with. I like to get inspiration from nature, food and people. I begin typically with a scent that I love or think others will love and then build from there with what ingredients would fit it the best, what form I want it to take like a soap or sugar scrub…then I start to incorporate how that fragrance might look represented by colors, shapes, and textures. No matter where that leads me, the ingredients I choose are always the best quality and have stood the test of time for their benefits to the body.

I feel a great sense of fulfillment when I am able to share my creations with others and Mountain Lather has given me that avenue.

While I specialize in cold process soaps, I have also added bath salts, sugar scrubs, bath truffles and lotion to my merchandise. I offer a large variety of fragrance and ingredient options in all of these product lines. I sell a variety of gift sets and I recently teamed up with a master potter who provides me soap dishes and shaving mugs to accent my gift sets (coming soon to Etsy).

Due to the handmade nature of my products, they are nonrefundable. Products will have slight variations in color and look, as each product is made in small quantities. No two items will be exactly the same. If an item has shipped there will be no refund on shipping.

If the USPS shows via tracking that your package has been delivered but you do not receive it, Mountain Lather may choose to not refund or replace the order.

I want you to be 100% delighted in your order, so if a problem occurs please contact me via Etsy so we can find a reasonable solution.

Additional policies and FAQs
I would be thrilled to help you with your special soap or other bath product requests. Custom soap orders are available for listed items and for many other options. I can make soap wedding favors, baby shower soap gifts, pet themed soaps, gift sets and more. Soap custom orders require 8 weeks lead time and a minimum order of 15-18 soaps ( depending upon design).

I offer wholesale prices to shops and vendors who are interested in selling my soaps. Let's talk!
