About

Curiosity and creativity are the spice of life!

I love creating and exploring new designs to challenge myself artistically.

When I get to my studio in the morning, the first thing I do is open the kiln to see how my pieces turned out. I am always excited - it is like Christmas morning every time! I never know what may happen with the various reactions in the glass during a firing. These daily discoveries feed my curiosity and love for glass as a medium.

Art was always a part of my life growing up in a small town in central Illinois. After completing my degree in fine art, I moved to Albuquerque, NM where I worked in a gallery. One of my coworkers was a silversmith. He offered me a part time job helping him with his production lines and in return, he taught me how to silversmith. I was hooked! I made jewelry in my spare time for a number of years; I am always thankful for the opportunity he gave me.

Fast-forward a number of years and after a detour into corporate life, I decided to leave my career to go back to school to learn how to create with glass as my medium. After completing my studies, I decided to combine my knowledge of silversmithing with glass and Moxie Sorbet Designs was launched. After a move to New Jersey, life settled down enough for me to create full time and open my Etsy shop.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Moxie Sorbet Designs. Please check back often, as I am always exploring new ideas and trying out different products.
