Lovely. And arrived very quickly...
The Story of Mrs Bertimus and her Button Tin of Happiness:
My neighbour told me about her resident blackbird, who would very cheekily hop into her kitchen of a morning to pinch the crumbs from her toast.
She told me all about her loveable rogue, who she called Mr Bertimus.
For some strange reason, his name struck a chord with me and my alter ego, Mrs Bertimus was born.
Part blackbird, part magpie, she loves nothing more than swooping down on the shiney things, the vintage treasures and the forgotten bits and bobs found in the dusty corners of her local charity shop of delights.
With a beak full of goodies, she sketches, screen prints and performs feats of stitchery pokery, revelling in the delights of her button tin of happiness.
If you'd like to find out more about the general shinanigans of Mrs Bertimus, then please take a peek at my blog:
Owner, Maker, Designer
Hello there chucks, what do I love about running my little Etsy shop? I love drawing and seeing how they emerge as prints, (it still gives me goose bumps, no matter how many times I screen print!) I love rootling for vintage bits of fabric and haberdashery (oooo, haberdashery...) and whizzing up bits and bobs on my trusty (but a bit rusty) sewing machine.
Thanks for dropping by!
'The Makings Of Mrs Bertimus' is all about hand made goodness, all crafted by my own little self!
Each piece is completely and utterly unique, there will never, ever be a repeat of the patchwork combinations. (That would spoil all my fun!)
I screen print my drawings of the animals I've perchanced upon during my travels.
(If you see a strange woman papping an unsuspecting dog in the street, that'll be me!)
The vast majority of the materials and trimmings that I use are recycled.
Every care has been taken to use only the highest quality materials, but please remember that they've had a previous life before Mrs B descended upon them, and so there may be little imperfections. (I think it all adds to their charm anyways.)
Hope you enjoy your little perusals, and please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any queries or ponderings.
