Announcement   Hello Spring! From warm and cozy fleece dog coats, to lightweight walking harnesses and fun cotton dog shirts, Mrs. Bow-Wow's got your dog covered with bright colors, comfort—and a touch of whimsy.

I originally started making fleece dog coats and harnesses for my own dogs and designed them to be sturdy, comfortable, and easy to put on and take off — plus all are fully lined, many are reversible and all are easy-care machine washable.
The most important feature of my designs is this: they must be comfortable, functional and practical for your dog. Some of my customers have told me that these are the only coats their dogs don't mind wearing.
Originally designed to help keep my senior dogs (shiba inus) warm, clean, and looking good, my fleece dog coats are also great for post-operative protection, or for short-coated dogs who get cold easily—or are fashion-obsessed! They can also help dogs prone to skin irritations or allergies (and slow down chronic licking habits). I've even found that they can have a calming effect (like an anxiety wrap) when dogs are stressed.
Need a custom size for your hard-to-fit dog? I am happy to work with you to find the perfect coat or make minor alterations to a coat listed in my shop. I don't charge extra for custom coats, limited to fabric I have on hand (and I have quite a bit). Don't be afraid to inquire!
All full length fleece dog coats are lined in soft cotton/cotton-blend fabric, cotton flannel, fleece or microfleece; many can also be worn reversed.
Lightweight cotton harness half-coats are 100 percent cotton, fully lined, with nylon or polypropolene webbing for the leash hook along the back.
All styles are easy care, too—just toss them in the wash and tumble dry warm. (For best results, close Velcro fasteners before washing.)
I also have pet snuggle sack beds and a few animal-lover themed aprons available for purchase. Take a look around and thanks for visiting my shop!

About

Everybody has a dog story...

That's Lefty in my profile picture. He was the best dog ever. As he got older, he had a hard time keeping warm and so I made him a cozy warm fleece dog coat from some cute remnant fabric I found. To my surprise, my finicky old Shiba Inu friend actually liked wearing it! He slept better and seemed less stressed.

So I made him another one. Then I made a couple for my other favorite dogs, YoYo and Pearl, and their dog friends. Turns out I enjoy making dog coats -- and like a lot of fun hobbies, it's gotten a little out of control.

Customers (and their dogs) love my dog coats; they are designed to be sturdy, very easy to put on/take off, comfortable, stylish and definitely attention-getting. I think you will like them too!

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

I am happy to make custom sized coats at no additional charge — limited to fabrics I have on hand (which is quite a lot). If you have a color, theme, pattern or other preference please inquire.

Care instructions

Fabrics are all pre-washed/preshrunk before being sewn.
Items in my shop are machine wash cool/tumble dry. For best results, please fasten hook and loop closures when washing.

Sizing details

I provide a general weight estimate for each item in my shop, but realize that all dogs are unique. That is why there is a range of measurements within the sections of my shop. (i.e. not all smalls are exactly the same.) For best fit, I recommend measuring your dog following these three steps and comparing those numbers to the ones provided in each listing.
1. Measure (in inches) the length of your pet's back from the base of the neck to the base (not the tip) of the tail.
2. Measure around the broadest part (girth) of your pet's chest.
3. Measure across the front of your dog's chest (the broadest width under your pet's chin) from the back of one front leg armpit across the front to the other front leg armpit.
