How did it all start? Wow. How much do you want to read? I kid, I kid!

It really all started with my clothing allowance. My very thrifty parents, mostly mom, gave up on buying clothes for me and decided to dole out my bit of the family budget for clothes right to me and let me figure out what I wanted to wear. It was NOT a lot and certainly not enough to get myself a coveted pair of Calvin Klein jeans. Not if I wanted to keep wearing underwear and have a winter coat. So being one who sewed, I quickly realized that sewing my own clothes was cheaper. Cheaper even still when I found out how little could get a 100% linen damask tablecloth for. I also discovered vintage clothing. Wow. I could not look like everyone else AND save money? I was all about that.

Fast forward. In my first apartment, met a guy who was to become one of my very, very dearest friends. I kid you not. He is some kind of genius when it comes to sniffing out really amazing vintage finds. We were roommates off and on many times over the years, always going to many, many thrift stores and flea markets together. He moved to NYC a number of years back, leaving behind a lot of vintage awesomeness in his wake. As I prepared to move from my apartment of over 12 years last year, I realized just how much vintage fun was surrounding me. Not wanting to become the crazy vintage lady on Hoarders, I decided an Etsy shop might be a good way to pare down the excess of vintage goodies in my life.

And you know what? I am loving it. Love selling the vintage wares here on Etsy. :)
