Heart of Glass
A veces siento que como, duermo y respiro arte. Doy clases en la Escuela de Matemáticas, Ciencias y Artes de Arkansas y en el Museo de Bellas Artes de Arkansas. También tengo un estudio completo de cerámica y vidrio en el garaje de mi casa. Normalmente ahí es donde me encontrarás a altas horas de la madrugada.
He trabajado con casi todos los materiales, incluida pintura, cerámica, metal, madera... pero el vidrio es lo que realmente despierta mi interés y me inspira todos los días. Estoy un poco obsesionado.
Tengo una Licenciatura en Bellas Artes de la Universidad Estatal de Missouri y una Maestría en Bellas Artes de la Academia de Arte de la Universidad. Actualmente estoy realizando una investigación doctoral sobre el color químico y la reactividad térmica en vidrio formado en horno.
Mi casa es un pequeño pueblo de Arkansas llamado Hot Springs. Me encanta el lugar donde vivo y disfruto haciendo y enseñando arte en vidrio en el trabajo y en casa. Mi trabajo se puede encontrar en la Galería de Arte Colectiva ubicada en el centro de Hot Springs, AR.
Sometimes I feel like I eat, sleep, and breathe art. I teach at the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts, and the Arkansas Museum of Fine Art. I also have a full ceramics and glass studio in my home garage. That is usually where you will find me in the wee hours of the morning.
I have worked with just about every material including painting, ceramics, metal, wood… but glass is what truly holds my interest and inspires me every single day. I’m a little obsessed.
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Missouri State University and a Master of Fine Arts from the Academy of Art University. I am currently pursuing a research PhD involving chemical color and heat reactivity in kiln formed glass.
My home is a small town in Arkansas called Hot Springs. I love where I live and enjoy making and teaching glass art at work and at home. My work can be found at the Collective Art Gallery located in downtown Hot Springs, AR.
