About Muddy Puddle Designs
Hi, I'm Sarah — a potter, plant lover, and proud mess-maker based in the beautiful Macedon Ranges of Victoria, Australia.
Muddy Puddle Designs grew out of a simple love for making things by hand. What started as a quiet creative practice has slowly become something I get to share with people who appreciate the beauty in imperfect, handmade things — and honestly, I'm still a little pinch-me about that.
Every piece in this shop is wheel-thrown and hand-painted in my small home studio, made in small batches with a lot of care and probably a bit of clay on my face. I work in stoneware — a sturdy, beautiful material that ages gracefully and feels lovely to hold. My designs tend to lean whimsical and nature-inspired: think garden critters, botanical motifs, and the kind of quiet joy you get from a really good morning coffee in a mug that makes you smile.
I believe functional objects can also be joyful ones. A soap dish doesn't have to be boring. A vase can have a worm on it. A mug can be the best part of someone's morning. That's the spirit behind everything I make.
Muddy Puddle Designs ships within Australia only, so every piece stays close to home — which feels right for work that's rooted in a very particular patch of Victorian countryside.
I don't take custom orders, but I do release new work in small shop drops and sell at local markets throughout the year. The best way to stay in the loop is to follow along on Instagram at @MuddyPuddleDesigns, where I share the studio process, the wonky experiments, and the occasional very muddy puddle.
Thank you so much for being here. It genuinely means the world. 🌱
