Announcement   Hand thrown, hand painted, hand carved mugs, plates and bowls.

Purchasing pottery on the internet is such a wonderful leap of faith. It is not the same as being in a shop where you can chat with the artist, pick the piece up in your hand, feel it's heft and know for sure that this is just the right mug for you. I really appreciate you choosing my work and i want you to be entirely happy with your purchase. Please feel free to contact me with any questions about the pieces you are interested in.

And come back often--I will be posting new pieces here online as soon as I take them out the kiln.

I hope that Peter will find joy in this wonderful piece of art. It is not the first I have bought. Thank you for your wonderful and whimsical way of expressing your feelings about the power of the sea. Best to you. I do not know if it was appreciated by the recipient but I truly hope so. Thank you again for your craft and your heart. They come together in an amazing way and they have affected me. Have a great summer. All the best, Jenny Wallick

Lovely! I have several pieces of the artist work. I am a big admirer of her folky designs and impeccable workmanship.

About

mudlark pottery

My name is Laurie Goldman. I live and work in Brewster, MA on Cape Cod. My studio is called mudlark pottery. A mudlark is a type of bird, but it is also a traditional British term for a person who finds treasures while mucking about in the mud. I like that image.

Welcome to my shop. I create functional and art pottery for everyday use. I like whimsy. I like warmth. I like making simple pieces that express solid feeling. All my pieces are thrown on the wheel, and many are hand painted or hand carved using a technique called sgraffito. This is real homegrown pottery: you can be very sure that each piece offered here will proudly display its flaws as well as it's charms. Thanks so much for visiting, and please come back soon as I add more pieces in the coming weeks. Cheers! lg

Payment
Paypal or checks are happily accepted. Payment is expected within three days. Photos can be a bit deceiving about size and scale--it's good to double check the measurements of a piece as described in it's listing before making a final purchase. Please make sure you follow the Iink to Paypal to complete your transaction. If paying with a check we will hold the pottery until the check has been cleared by the bank. Massachusetts residents will be charged sales tax. This will be automatically figured into your Paypal invoice.

Special order items require a 50% deposit. Please contact me to discuss your ideas for your special item. If you would like to pay for your deposit via paypal chose the "other" option under payment methods and send me your email via etsy convos. I will then invoice you via paypal. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Thanks!
Laurie
Shipping
Greetings everyone! I am off Cape for the month of July. The shop is open, but any purchases made between July 1-30th will not be shipped until the beginning of August.

I use bubble wrap, peanuts and cardboard to make sure your pottery arrives at your home safe and sound. Whenever possible, I use recycled shipping materials.

Please let me know if this is a gift. I am happy to include a note on a postcard. Include the not in the comments section when purchasing your pottery, and I will include your message in the box.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you are not happy please contact me immediately and I will make things right.
