I fell in love with Etsy a long time ago. However, I never ever imagined that I was creative enough to actually be on Etsy.
Well dreams do come true.
This is my story.
Mugs Messages And More was created almost immediately after I retired from my psychiatry practice. It was January 2021, our world was still dealing with the ravages of COVID. I was consumed with the thought of helping out. I wanted to be able to generate funds solely for the purpose of donation. I wanted to support the local food bank and a voluntary medical organization called Mercy Ships.
In the midst of it all I was introduced to the concept of print on demand (POD) and drop shipping. I recall being completely floored by the idea. In a nutshell, If I could come up with a bit of creativity, for eg. a mug design, I could utilize a whole series of systems already in place to have an Etsy store of my own. The POD platform provided me with a catalog of items that I could design on their website and post on Etsy (where else). A customer and a purchase would then set the whole system rolling. My order (yes my order) on Etsy would get automatically routed to my POD company who would then route the order to the print provider who would then create my product and ship it to the customer. There was no holding onto inventory and nothing was ever wasted. It sounded fascinatingly simple and elegant. I had to give it a try.
So here I am today.
Tapping into my creativity. Learning about POD, email marketing, social media marketing, SEO, tags and titles. Running my store on the most creative market place in the world. Taking care of customers to the T. Generating funds for charity. Putting my heart and soul into every item I create.
Reaching out to you, my customer, who with your purchase is flipping the switch on this well oiled machinery. While my designs completed the circle you set the process in motion. Each purchase you make supports a manufacturer, a print provider, a POD company, the postal and delivery system and 2 non profit organizations (100% of my share) and of course Etsy.
That is why I am completely hooked and invite you to please come in, look around and take a piece of the action home with you.
Thank you and warm regards,
Sunita Kumar, MD
