This photograph is haunting - literally. After favoriting it, I lost it for a few days and spent hours searching for it. Once I found it, I bought it so that would never happen again. It is amazing how the photographer saw into the soul of this child and framed such a profound and beautiful portrait. Also, when I contacted him about the picture, he told me all about the circumstances of his taking it - 30 years ago! And when he sent the photo, he included a copy of another shot of the same child! A great Etsy experience. Thanks, Mike!

About

A Photographer's Journal; 40 Years of Making Images

These images needed a voice - especially the photos of Himalayan people. Everyone has a story that should be heard and this site helps to tell it.

Whether it is an image of a mother and child at 17,000 feet after walking through the snow for 5 hours or a simple portrait of of a pine tree before a storm, my goal is to show one true thing about my subject.

If done correctly, the viewer will be transported and maybe transformed....
