Announcement   MyBrilliantBrush now proudly donates a portion of each sale to the establishment of The Fisher House of Charleston: "The Fisher House Charleston project will provide a comfortable refuge for families of patients at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center. Fisher House Charleston will relieve the burden of costly hotel stays so that families can focus on what is really important: visiting their family member in the hospital and not having to sleep in their vehicles or in the patients hospital room."

I appreciate you visiting my shop and browsing. My paintings are a combination of memories from places I've visited and loved and abstractions that emerge from the lines and colors I sweep across my surfaces. While some of the images may have started as stories in my mind, my intent is that you interpret them so they take on new meaning in your heart.

I hope my paintings excite your imagination, make you smile, and even offer a serene moment while you're here in the shop.

Please stop back!

You can also follow my painting progress on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest. See the work before it's finished and listed here in my shop and watch some live action painting videos! I'd love to read you comments.

All of my paintings receive a coat of UV protective varnish like the polymer varnish I'm using on my acrylic painting "Crest."

My inspiration for the notecards was a September weekend spent at an art show at the beach. I drew during the slow times and put my feet in the sand at the end of each day.

About

A Brilliant Adventure

MyBrilliantBrush exists because I believe art is for everyone and should be accessible and affordable. We connect with one another in magical ways through art. People are often intimidated by the vibe of art galleries and dealers, and they miss opportunities to enter the space and enjoy magnificent pieces. I opened my shop to offer Etsy visitors a relaxed viewing experience and the chance to purchase art at a great price.

All my painting tell stories. Each painting starts on my easel as a narrative in my head, but it becomes a NEW story to each person who views the piece. I love hearing others' stories, too.
I know that the greatest reward of being an artist is making connections with total strangers— because we're not truly strangers when we connect through shared emotions.

These are some of the wonderful sentiments my customers have graciously shared with me:

"Looks even more beautiful in person! I bought it because it reminds me of my late younger brother, who loved skating and the beach! Love our beautiful marshes here in Charleston!"

"Such an amazing painting. It really makes me think and the colors and technique are beautiful. Fast shipping, very well packaged. You can tell it was painted with love! I will treasure this painting for a long, long time!"

"What a delightful, pleasant seller to work with! Judy answered my questions about her painting promptly, and was kind enough to customize the hanging wires on the back. The painting I purchased was absolutely beautiful, and I couldn't be happier. This is one of Etsy's finest sellers."

Welcome to MyBrilliantBrush. When you purchase one of my paintings, you're acquiring an original piece of artwork and adding to its story. What began with my heart, hands, and mind as a feeling or memory transforms and takes on new life with you. I hope my paintings touch you and enrich your life and the lives of those around you. Thank you for your support!

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment
I accept credit cards payments, Pay Pal payments, and Etsy Gift Cards.

Etsy keeps your payment information secure. Etsy shops never receive your credit card information.
Shipping
I ship artwork within 3-5 days of receiving an order. Customers are notified via email once I deliver their packages to USPS. I send the customer a confirmation number to track his/her package.

If I expect any delay I contact my customer; I list some of my oil paintings as soon as I finish them and they need additional drying time before they can be safely shipped.

Your painting will be protected and wrapped in layers of bubble wrap. ( I use as much recycled bubble wrap as possible.)

Local shopping and pickup are also available.

Insurance is included on all original pieces.

Contact me for international shipping as prices vary.
Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. I'm not responsible for delays due to customs.
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to be happy. Please contact me within 7 days if you are not pleased with your purchase. If I can "fix" whatever concerns you about the painting, I will.

Conditions of return:
Ship the painting back to me within 14 days.
I will issue a refund upon return of the item as long as it arrives back to me in the same condition it was when I sent to you. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.
Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs.
Additional policies and FAQs
I paint with quality professional grade oil and acrylic paints on well prepared surfaces. My canvases are stretched and primed with multiple layers of gesso and the surfaces of my wooden boxes are primed before receiving a textured ground. All sides of my boxes are painted satin black.

My oil paintings are sealed with Richeson's Damar Varnish or Windsor and Newton's Retouching Varnish before they are shipped. Both mediums ensure protection from UV light and dust.

My acrylic paintings are sealed with Golden's Polymer Varnish that also protects the surface from light and dust.

My watercolors are painted with Windsor and Newton Cotman colors on heavy paper, and I use archival ink to create my line drawings.

I welcome any questions and am happy to discuss my work with you!
