The cat seems to like my new craft room.
I spent the entire weekend cleaning and then arranging my new office/craft room/general workspace. Not finished yet, but it’s getting there.
Also, I can’t find the emoji for “dying of exhaustion but it’ll be worth it in the end.”
Just sold one of the carnelian stone pendant necklaces, so I figured I should restock on stones. They're such beautiful red, orange, and red colors. There's still one carnelian necklace available with more to come soon.

About

I love my day job. I mean, who wouldn't love to read books for a living? But I read so much for work that by the end of the day my eyes are tired and bloodshot to the point where they're about ready to pop out of my head. Since I'm the kind of person who can't sit still and always has to be working on something, I started exploring various ways to express myself creatively that didn't strain my eyes more.

It started years ago when I learned how to spin wool on a spinning wheel as research for a book I was working on, which left me with a lot of yarn and nothing to do with it, so I took a class on knitting. Innumerable scarves and hats later, I found a book on how to knit beaded bracelets using metallic embroidery floss. It was an epiphany—I could knit, which I find soothing, and create striking jewelry at the same time. Even better, they were projects that could be completed within hours, not days or weeks as with some more complex knitting. One again I ended up with an abundance of the finished product, this time with more bracelets than I could ever hope to wear, so I began selling them on Etsy.

From there, my interests in the art of jewelry-making expanded to include other styles, experimenting with beads, cords made from natural materials, and wire. Most recently, I took a class on wire wrapping that inspired me to create intricate—and very much personal—designs for pendants.

And that, in a rather large nutshell, is how I ended up here. It is my earnest hope that you'll come to enjoy wearing the jewelry as much as I did creating them.
