The city in India where I came from means, “City of Destiny.” It is a beautiful place with lakes, cool beaches, hill ranges, caves, and valleys. It is filled with the splendor of nature, and has inspired me to create art that brings the outdoor world inside. In my shop you will find 3D butterflies, birds that look like they are ready to fly, flowers plush with petals, magical dragons and dragonflies, even cats, bats, and spiders all ready for Halloween. When you enter my shop, you step into a world of paper creations and imaginations that pay homage to the beauty of nature.

Growing up, my mother filled our home with her beautiful handmade artwork. I found myself wanting to do the same with my home, and, to be able to share my art with the people whom I cared about. Whenever I created something new, I would show my friends and family. They would compliment what I made, then tell me that I should sell my work. I realized they were right; I wanted to begin my own business creating and selling my artwork. My husband is my soul mate and my best friend from college. He is a person who has a true heart and a positive attitude. Taking care of the people he loves is important to him. He respects me and encourages me to make choices that will bring me happiness. When I told him about my new dream and how happy it would make me, I saw his support and, his happiness too. When we moved to California, I stopped working as a software engineer, and began my career as a business owner and full-time artist.


My art is made of high quality heavy card stock (allowing my pieces to “pop up”). My heart and soul are the intangible ingredients within every piece I make. Knowing that my work makes people happy is important to me. When I see the smiles on little children’s faces as they look at my butterflies and birds and flowers, I feel like I am one of them again. Growing up, I always wanted my room to feel as alive as a field in springtime. Part of my name means, “A good flower.” Perhaps that is one of the reasons I have always loved nature’s creatures and why my art is imbued with them.

My mother inspired the name of my Etsy shop, “My Dream Decors.” She has always made me feel that handmade pieces, given to one person from another, create connections that allow us to feel closer to people when we are not with them. I believe in this too. I hope that the pieces I make bring happiness to you, and to the people you care about in your life.
