Tutto è iniziato quando mi è stato consegnato un sacchetto di croci forgiate a mano. Un anziano membro della nostra parrocchia era venuto a mancare e aveva lasciato in eredità decine di croci che aveva realizzato perché amava crearle. Ne aveva fatte migliaia nel corso della sua vita e io possedevo alcune di quelle rimaste che avevano bisogno di una collocazione.
Ho subito desiderato creare un rosario e avevo in mente un design unico. Ho comprato perline e cordoncino e mi sono messa al lavoro, progettando la struttura e facendo pratica con i nodi a barilotto. Dopo alcuni prototipi, il mio rosario Fallowtide ha trovato la sua forma e la sua liturgia. Mi è piaciuto così tanto creare i rosari che ho continuato a farlo anche dopo aver dato una nuova casa a tutte le croci forgiate a mano.

It began when I was handed a bag of hand-forged crosses. An older saint at our church had passed away and he had left behind dozens of crosses he made because he loved to craft them. He made thousands of them over his lifetime and I possessed some of the remaining that needed homes.
I instantly wanted to make a strand of prayer beads, and I had a unique design in mind. I bought beads and cord and got to work designing the structure and practicing barrel knots. After a few prototypes my Fallowtide beads found their shape and liturgy. I loved making the strands so much I continued crafting even after all the hand-forged crosses were re-homed.
