    About MyIndieLifeBlog

    On Etsy since 2016

Want to learn how to expand your Creative Audience and Grow your Business?

    Hey There, I’m Sara…
I come from a creative product background where I successfully turned my own £100 investment into a six figure business in a niche area of the craft industry. Before that I worked for British Fashion Designers designing and managing diffusion lines. So I have experience in design, marketing, business and range planning, project management and on-line selling.

Throughout the 11 years of my craft business I taught a lot of colleagues and customers different aspects of what I did, so it seemed only natural to package these tools up and put them out there into the world.

In 2017 My Indie Life Blog was born - a place where fellow independent makers can find the essential training they need to push their business forward and create the jump-out-of-bed job they always wanted!

    The company’s ethos is simple;
Education - to provide business training & mentoring
Sustainability - to promote craft business as a sustainable career choice
Motivation - to nurture, inspire & motivate creative start-ups
Strategy - to help creatives develop strategies for growth
Confidence - to nurture artists to reach their dream business
People 1st - to meet the needs of creatives building better business

“I Believe That Every Artist Can Run A Successful Business”

I learnt first hand that you CAN build a successful creative business & I'm here to show YOU HOW!

    Frequently asked questions
    Printable/Planner/Digital Art Sizing & Printing

PRINTABLES/PLANNERS - I create files to fit A4 size (297mm x 210mm). Occasionally A5 where listings state as such. A4s can be scalled down at the printing stage to create A5, or US letter sizes, etc.

Select "Actual Size" in your printer settings for A4.

To print to A5, or Letter sized sheet from an A4 file make sure to select the new page size in your settings and then "Scale to Fit". Always check alignment and a print preview before you press print, as different printers can cause slight issues on rescaling projects.

DIGITAL ART - Sizing/scale is dictated in each individual listing.

ALL - Check that your ink levels are high and that you are printing on good quality paper for best results.

    File Errors, or Download problems

Very rarely Etsy downloads do produce an error, although as I say this is very rare. If this happens, please delete the file from your computer and download it again from the Etsy link you were given. This should correct your issue.

File Formats & Programmes needed? Editable?

    My files are NOT editable.

I create printable files as PDFs and art as JPEGS or PNGs.

PRINTABLES/EBOOKS/PLANNERS - Most computers and tablets will open these readily in PDF readers, such as Adobe Acrobat. You should have no problems printing from these programmes either.

DIGITAL ART/SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT - images are sent in .jpeg or .png format at high resolution for the best quality upload.

The colours on my printable look different to the image on Etsy

Printer screens and printers vary widely in how they interpret colours, so you will always notice slight differences between your own equipment and someone-else's. Unfortunately this is unavoidable.

A quick check on ink levels before you print will always help your printer print to the best colour it can.

Do you sell physical planners? Or send drafts for customised planners?

    No drafts.

    Unfortunately I do not supply paper versions, instead I supply the file for you to print your own copies. I do this for two reasons really;

1 - the cost of high quality; paper, ink, packaging and then shipping to you would make my products vastly more expensive
2 - most of my printable planners and worksheets will need to be printed multiple times in your craft business. So to make it more financially viable for your business and to avoid photocopy errors I allow you to either print from your own printer on the paper you prefer to use, or take the file to a local print shop to print the number of copies your require for your business only.

But physical copies of my books are on Amazon.

How long before Etsy send me the download file?

Etsy estimate that it may take between 24-48 hours, once payment has cleared if they get busy. Usually it takes less than 1 hour.

Please make sure to check before you buy that your email details are correct and that you have notifications from Etsy set up correctly on your account. Always check your SPAM folder, just in case!

The email will contain your file links (titled Instant Download).

    Refunds

I cannot offer refunds on download e-products, so please note that all sales are final.

I do offer refunds on Physical books and Magazines.
I accept returns on faulty products, or if you are unhappy with your order (see above). Return shipping is paid by the customer and will only be refunded for faulty items to the amount of the cheapest return carriage cost specified in our contact. Returned products must arrive in a resaleable condition, in their original packaging and will be refunded after inspection.

Exchanges - Exchanges are possible and customers are responsible for further shipping charges.

Refunds - I refund on returned goods only, unless there are mitigating circumstances which we have discussed by email.

    Custom and personalised orders

Unfortunately I don't always have time to create customer orders, but press the 'Request Custom Order' button and tell me what you need anyway... just in case!

My Time vs The Costs You Pay

This Etsy shop is part of my business and as such I pay myself a wage to work the hours required to produce the products and services you buy. I create these with my full effort and skill.

If you do not respect my time and my value please do not buy, as I will not undervalue myself further by offering discounts because someone else sells something similar for less. I ask for your respect in this.

A Note About Product Prices & Shipping

Every time I come back from the post office I check your order for any shipping over-payments. If I find that you have overpaid I will send you the over-payment amount as a refund via the means you paid.

This I hope will help you feel more confident in shopping with me in the future.
