1. Processing and Shipping
Almost everything in my shop is made-to-order. I'm a stay-at-home mom myself, and find that this helps me balance my shop and family needs. You'll find processing times listed within each listing so you can gauge how long something will take to ship. Most items ship within about 3 to 5 business days (I ship orders on Monday-Friday; generally not on the weekends, as I try to reserve this time for worship and family time). Some very work-intensive items may take longer to prepare; larger orders do also tend to take a little bit longer. You should see an estimated ship date on your receipt or if you check in your "purchased items" section of your profile. I try very hard to stick by these dates, and if for any reason your shipment is delayed, I will certainly keep you informed. You will always receive a shipping confirmation email when your order ships (including tracking information for all US shipments).

2. Rush Service and shipping upgrades
Please contact me prior to ordering if you have a time constraint, especially if you will need to actually receive your order within a week or less. I offer a "Rush Processing" option, which guarantees that your order will be sent out within 2 business days. 3. Headband Sizing
I have an approximate size chart posted in every headband listing- these are simple generalizations. Every baby is different and head size changes very rapidly, especially in the first year of life. In general, you do want the diameter of the headband to be somewhat smaller than the head circumference so that the headband will stay on without being too loose. A general rule of thumb is that skinny headbands tend to fit tighter than the wider or ruffled elastic headbands; they are more likely to leave a "mark" when they start to get too snug, so I often recommend upsizing on that style of headband. The wider elastic styles tend to be more forgiving and I find that most of the time the age-based sizing works just fine for that style. If you would like to be more sure of sizing, you can always measure a headband that you already have that fits your child well, and I can match the diameter of that headband.

4. Clip "Side" or Orientation
I do clip orientation from the perspective of the person wearing the clip. So if your child parts her hair on her left side and sweeps her bangs to her right side, you would want a right-sided clip- even though the clip will be on YOUR left side as you are looking at her. f you'd like an example of what this looks like I can send you a picture.

5. Clip Styles
Generally, the slip-resistant alligator clips tend to be the best for most types of hair. I use a "slip-grip" surface on the inside of the clip to help it hold better in fine hair. A child needs enough hair to pull some to the side, or up into a teeny ponytail to be able to hold the alligator clips in. The baby snap clips are tiny little snap clips that work best when baby has just a little bit of wispy hair. I also like these clips for use with headbands as they are small enough to hide completely behind the flower or other decoration and can make a seamless attachment with the headband (the alligator clips do show a bit on the side when attached to headbands).

6. Gift Options
I am happy to ship gifts directly to the recipient. I will gladly gift wrap and include gift note free of charge- just request this in your instructions to seller! I never include pricing information in my shipments (unless asked to do so).

For the most part, not really. My life stage right now with my young children doesn't really allow me time to manage a wholesale-type business. Definitely! I send orders all over the world. International shipping rates are significantly higher than domestic rates, but I attempt to keep the shipping charges to about the actual cost of postage; if the actual cost is significantly less than what you pay for shipping, I will refund any overage. Package tracking is not available for standard international shipping. I can upgrade shipping method to many countries to include tracking and expedited delivery times, but this does cost about $20 (USD) more than regular international shipping (if you are interested in a shipping upgrade please contact me before placing your order. It generally takes about 2 to 4 weeks for shipments to arrive in most countries.

11. Custom Requests
Yes! I can often make color and other changes to the items you see in my shop- just ask!

Stay at home mama to three little girls finding joy in making pretty things for others

I started making bows when I had my second daughter (February 2009) and quickly discovered that I loved doing it, and after lots of practice, I learned that I could be good at it! All I wanted to do in my spare time was make bows- and it wasn't long before I was making so many I could never use them all!

The next several months were a huge transition for me, as I stepped down from my job as a pharmacist (the one I have the really expensive graduate education to do...)- to stay home with my girls. It is such an enormous privilege to be their first teacher, the shaper of our household, and the keeper of our little "nest." But as any stay-at-home mom knows, having an outlet can become totally necessary for maintaining sanity!

Years later, My Little Pixies is still an outlet for me. It's something I can do to help supplement my family's income, and gives me a little space in my home to call "mine" in a very busy life season, where almost everything else I do is for someone else.

It has always amazed me how God has provided exactly what I need with this little shop. In a season where we were struggling financially, I had so many orders to make that I needed to pay for childcare just to keep up. In a season where I was struggling personally with finding value as a stay at home mom, and dealing with the heartache of infertility, My Little Pixies was a needed solace and escape. In other times, when family needs are high, I find that He allows my shop to be slow so that I can keep my focus on my first calling as a wife and mom. I'm grateful for God's provision in my life, and for the gift of being able to run this shop from my own home.

I've always been a creative person- a sort of weird cross between chemistry nerd and visionary artist. I love to use my hands to put things together, and every once in awhile, the winds of creativity just sweep through me and I can't sleep till I've tried something new! I love custom orders; these days due to time constraints, I don't have as much time to just sit down and create and market new styles as often as I used to. But when I receive a custom order, it's a wonderful opportunity to put my creativity to work to create the perfect item for the client's photo session, or other request.

I have been part of the Etsy community ever since I started my business, and I love how Etsy is an ever-evolving entity. It is a truly cool cooperative process that connects both buyers and makers, and it just keeps getting better! Hands-down, one of my favorite things about working on Etsy is the connection that my story has with others. The majority of my clients are moms, just like me. I feel a kinship with them in our shared motherhood, especially with the many I've "met" who've also walked the hard road of miscarriage and infertility. Today, on the "other side" of that experience (if it is really true that there is an "other side;" I think that the struggle shaped me in a permanent way)- I feel I can offer hope to those who are in that tough place. Whenever I'm contacted to make something for a "rainbow baby," it gives me especially great joy to work on that order, knowing how very special that little one is, following a loss!

I feel very blessed that God has allowed My Little Pixies to become part of the story of our family. It has been very clear to me from the beginning that any successes I have had can be directly attributed to His grace in my life.

So welcome to My Little Pixies- a shop run by a totally ordinary mom- trying to do an extraordinary job- in life, parenting, and business. I'm glad that I have been able to share some of my story with you!

Welcome to My Little Pixies, LLC! My husband and I joke that our little girls were born with fairy wings and tiny shoes because they were just so tiny and pixie cute! I started My Little Pixies when our girls were 2 and 4 and I'd just left the professional world to stay at home with them. Now, they are 9, 7, and our surprise miracle third daughter is 2! My Little Pixies has become a fun way for me to connect with others- most of my clients are other moms like me- and also supplement our family's income while doing something I love. My style is cute and whimsical; the kind of stuff my girls love. I know yours will too! I value a high quality product and always put my best effort into everything I make.

I do not generally do wholesale orders, as I have found that this takes away too much from time with family. I am delighted to put together larger orders for clients, but I do not offer volume-based discounts at this time.

Accepted payment methods

Paypal, debit, or credit cards are accepted. Payment is expected within 24 hours of purchase. I do allow for cancelations within 24 hours. Taxes may be collected for Michigan residents.
Shipping
All orders ship within the processing parameters shown within the listing; often sooner, but if you need your order to ship sooner, please let me know so I can arrange my schedule to accommodate. Most of my listings ship within 2 to 5 business days- the timing of exactly when your order ships within those parameters will depend on how many other orders I have at that time, and the specifics of my family life that week. "Rush" processing will guarantee next-day processing of your order; if you have a strict time concern, I recommend purchasing the "rush" option, and I will rearrange whatever I need to to get your order out the following business day.

I typically ship first-class mail. Shipping level upgrades are available at checkout. Rush processing is also available, which pushes your order to the front of my queue and guarantees that it will be shipped the following day.

You will receive confirmation from Etsy when your order ships, providing you with the tracking information so you can track your shipment.

If you are an international customer, I ship all orders via first class international mail. International mail typically takes about 2 to 4 weeks, but sometimes can take up to 2 months to arrive. Once I drop a package off at the post office, I no longer have control over what happens to it in transit. If you are placing a larger order (over $50), I recommend purchasing insurance. Please contact me if you'd like to add that to your order. I'm still working out the kinks in the international shipping cost calculation; rates have increased significantly this year- I do not intend to over charge for shipping, so if you pay more than it costs for shipping, I will refund the difference to you.
Refunds and Exchanges
Your feedback is very important to me and I work hard to be sure that everyone who purchases from my shop is fully satisfied. If you are dissatisfied with your order for any reason, I will gladly work out exchange terms to resolve any issues you have. Please contact me if you have any concerns, before leaving a negative review! I strive for five-star service at all times and will respond promptly and efficiently to any concerns you have!
Additional policies and FAQs
I love custom orders! I get some of my best ideas from the custom orders I do! For custom orders, I require payment up front before I begin work on a project. I may have to limit the number and type of custom orders I accept during the busy season.

I am frequently asked about wholesale; at this time I do not participate in any wholesale agreements, because I really prefer the direct, personal connection with my clients.

Rush Processing is an option you can purchase at checkout that will guarantee that your order will be processed and sent out the following business day. This is the best way to guarantee that you will receive a last-minute order in time for a short deadline; without rush processing, it may be a few days before I can get your order made and sent to you- when you purchase rush processing, I will rearrange my schedule to put your order in the front of the queue.

Headband Sizing

I have an approximate headband sizing chart in each listing- but every baby's head will grow at a different rate, so some may need a larger size sooner than others. A good rule of thumb is that you want the headband size to be a little smaller than the head circumference, so that the headband will stretch a bit and stay on. Wider headbands have more "give" than skinny headbands, and will be less likely to leave a mark, even when they grow snug. I recommend choosing a bit more wiggle room for a skinny headband if you're concerned about a mark being left on baby's head. I can make custom sizes as well, so if you have a headband you know fits your baby well, I can match the diameter if you request it at checkout.
