Welcome and thanks for visiting! My name is Emily, and I'm the artist behind Sugarcreek Ceramics. I'd love for you to follow me on Facebook for special coupon codes, deals, and updates.

I love creating new, unique, and personalized designs so if you want something that isn't currently available in my shop please contact me via Etsy Convos. I would love to create a personalized piece for you.

All the pottery in my shop is hand painted by me with food safe, non-toxic glazes. You can wash pieces in the dishwasher though hand washing will help the pieces and glazes last as long as possible. Pieces can be microwaved, but beware of handling as they'll become very hot. They are not meant to be used in the oven.

I estimate 2-3 weeks to make and ship each piece. However, should you need your piece(s) faster, I offer expedited listings at an additional cost. Please etsy convo me before purchasing to ensure that I can accommodate your needs.

Returns and exchanges
One benefit of hand painted ceramics and products in general is that every piece will vary to some degree. Some slight imperfections, variances, and irregularities may appear on your piece as a result of the normal processes of painting and firing ceramics. These differences must be understood, expected, accepted by the buyer and are not grounds for a refund or replacement product.

If your piece is damaged or missing you must contact me within the time frame outlined in the shipping policy (3 business days for damaged pieces, 5 for lost/missing). Resolving these issues will involve the US post office and require lots of paperwork and proof in the case of damaged goods (such as original packaging, all broken pieces, etc).

In the event that your piece arrives broken I cannot send a replacement piece until the insurance claim is closed, and I receive reimbursement for the damage. If you would like to purchase a new piece to replace the broken one before the claim has been closed I will reimburse the purchase price of the first/broken piece if the claim is closed successfully, and I receive a refund. If the claim is unsuccessful and does not result in a refund I will not be able to refund any money.


Approval Process: We will communicate through written e-mails and photographs via etsy convo in regards to the design. I will only begin production of a custom item when you have given me final approval of your piece. (Note: The speed at which you're able to respond to my e-mails will affect the time frame in which I'm able to finish the piece. I estimate approximately two weeks to finish a custom order AFTER final approval has been given from the purchaser not two weeks after the purchase date. I cannot start glazing and firing a made to order piece until final approval has been given by the purchaser.)

I cannot be held responsible for any errors (spelling, dates, colors, etc) that are not caught and changed during the approval process, and they will not result in a refund or replacement piece.

I offer partial refunds (50% of purchase price) on custom orders as long as the purchase is cancelled BEFORE glazing and firing have taken place. I am only able to offer partial refunds as I have usually spent a good amount of time designing and photographing pieces and e-mailing purchasers.

There are NO refunds on custom orders after glazing has started. Since custom orders are made to each buyer's specifications, they cannot be resold.
I accept paypal, credit cards, and etsy gift certicates.

If you wish to cancel a premade piece (a piece without personalizations or custom work) you must do so before the piece is shipped. Once it is shipped it cannot be cancelled or returned.

I begin work on personalized and custom orders as soon as the payment is received, and they, therefore, cannot be cancelled.

Ohio residents will be charged sales tax, which will appear on paypal during check out.
Shipping costs include the costs of shipping, packing materials, delivery confirmation, and insurance. At this time I do not ship internationally.

Items will be shipped to the address on your etsy account. I cannot be held responsible for shipping problems and charges resulting from incorrect addresses. Should the piece become lost/missing/stolen as a result of an incorrect address I cannot guarantee a refund or replacement product. The outcome will depend on the decision of the USPS.

If you are purchasing multiple items to be shipped together I can combine shipping costs if you notify me before checking out. If you purchase the items before contacting me via etsy convo I will not be able to combine the shipping costs because of the etsy fees.

I work to have custom/made to order pieces (terms used interchangeably) completed as quickly as possible. After I receive your payment, I will contact you via etsy convo to work on the design. The custom piece will be finished within two to three weeks of the purchaser approving the final design as I cannot begin made to order pieces until they have been approved. Therefore, the rate at which custom pieces are completed relies greatly on the purchaser e-mailing me as quickly as possible. Production times can be sped up with the purchase of the "Make it Fast" or "Make it Faster" listings. This basically bumps you up in the queue and allows me to complete your piece faster.

No additional changes can be made once final approval has been given and glazing has begun.

Damaged packages: If your piece is damaged in transit you must contact me immediately (within 5 business days of receiving your package) so the post office can be notified of the damage. It is the buyer's responsibility to keep all original packaging and ceramic pieces until the claim is closed.

Lost packages must be reported to me within 5 business days. It is the buyer's responsibility to track packages so if a package does not arrive on the projected delivery day I must be notified within 5 days. If I am not notified within 5 days of the projected delivery date I cannot guarantee that you will receive a refund or replacement piece.
