When I was a teen my videogames were the most important thing in the world to me and my friends. I had all the latest and greatest consoles and titles. When I turned 18 and got out of school something clicked for me. I felt like there must be more to life and I didn't want to be the same person anymore. I sold all my games, started playing guitar and writing lyrics. My friends were baffled. All I knew was that I wanted to change the world somehow but I wasn't sure how just yet. This was the first big moment of change in my life.
Around the age of 20 I was devouring every book on psychology, self help and beliefs I could find. I was introduced to Dr. Stanley Krippner and his book Personal Mythology. Battling severe depression at the time and still struggling to manifest my new identity, Stanley and his book became the second life changing moment for me.
The third was when I realized that what I really wanted to do was create something where people from all walks of life and all beliefs could discover and work with their ideas about the world in ways they found exciting, fun, and productive. Something that made self discovery easy, colorful, and fascinating.
That's when it all came together for me. I knew that Personal Mythology was the way to do it, but it hadn't been updated for decades. It needed a fresh take and a new coat of paint in an age of short attention spans and fast paced media. I knew that my life's work was to revamp Personal Mythology for the modern era, and so the company MyMythos was born.
