Creating is like breathing for me. I have been a professional artist for 25 years, beginning with antique-embellished muslin dolls. Vintage items, such as millinery flowers, old jewelry and linens are some of my favorite supplies. During my career I have sold thousands of dolls through craft fairs, mail order, consignment, coops and stores.
My poor hands really got a workout, as I made everything myself. Wishing to increase my business, I started my own doll pattern company so I could reach out to other crafters to provide them instructions for making their own vintage-look dolls. What started at my kitchen table quickly became an international endeavor, for which I will always be grateful.
For a few years I opened my own brick and mortar store, which was located next to my home. My husband and I styled the entire building from start to finish in a Victorian decorating scheme, and I featured many of my doll designs.
My love of decorating was amplified when I worked for a year to attain a professional certificate in interior decorating from The New York School of Art and Design, based in New York City. I eventually taught decorating and craft classes in my small shop, which remains one of my happiest memories. From time to time, I am a freelance writer for The San Francisco Chronicle and other publications where my articles focus on various interior decorating topics. I love decorating and do it on a daily basis!
I have been selling all kinds of shabby chic, mixed media and home decor items through my own websites and now, on Etsy. I include many of the supplies I use in my art, and those which I think you will enjoy too.Amy Mosher Designs is a new line I have created to share some of my mixed media art. As you can easily see, I never met a pink I didn't like! I love it here, and the customers are fantastic. I would like to thank each and every one of my customers for their support and help to continue to make my dream come true every day!
