Quality Assurance

Items offered by MyVintageCocktail are quality items, generally in excellent to mint condition, ready to wear or use--unless otherwise noted. "Excellent" means that we've found no defects or flaws that adversely affect appearance or use, but there may minimal signs of typical wear. "Mint" means that the item appears brand new, or that we know it is unused. Occasionally we find a flawed item that is so unusual, lovely, or collectible that we can't pass it up and believe the flaws are inconsequential in the grand scheme of things. Flaws will be clearly noted in the description. Sometimes items may require minor repairs, which we will do (or have done if beyond our ability to do well). These will be disclosed as well (unless it's restitching a button, seam break, or loose hem). When you receive items such as this, they will be in excellent condition!

Be assured that all items you select have been carefully inspected and researched for accuracy in dating, condition, and pricing.

Payment
NOTE ON RESERVES: Due to buyers asking to have items put on reserve, then not following through on the purchase, we've changed our policy on reserves. We will hold an item for no longer than 48 hours. If you wish it held longer than that, there will be a non-refundable deposit required of 25% of the purchase price, or $25, whichever is larger. Please remember that you can ask for layaway terms on many items in the shop. We will invoice you through PayPal, or you can mail a check or money order.

We accept PayPal, Etsy checkout, personal check, USPS money order, and bank check. If payment is by personal or bank check, we do not ship until the check has cleared our bank and yours.

We welcome international orders, but UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE WE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DUTIES, TAXES, OR OTHER FEES imposed by the country to which the item is shipped. You are responsible for knowing your country's import/customs policies. We do not falsify customs forms; it is illegal to do so.
Shipping
Shipping is generally made within two (2) business days (we do not ship on weekends unless you specifically request expedited handling) of cleared payment. If you need an item expedited, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you! We ship via USPS in the vast majority of cases, generally by first-class mail or Priority Mail.

IMPORTANT: If you pay via PayPal, due to their requirements we MUST ship only to the address listed in the transaction details. If you wish your purchase shipped to a different address, please add that address to your PayPal account. Then select it as the one to which you want the item shipped. This is easy to do, and you can add several addresses to which you have items shipped.
Refunds and Exchanges
RETURNS

We want you to be pleased with your purchase! Returns are accepted if we’ve overlooked a serious flaw, which is rare, but we are human. Generally, returns will not be accepted for size issues, as we're very meticulous about giving accurate and all pertinent measurements; it is up to you to determine if the garment will fit. Contact us prior to ordering if you are unsure about fit.

If you believe a return is warranted, you MUST request a return authorization within three (3) days of receipt; if return is authorized, you must ship it back within three (3) days of authorization. If the item is found to have not been misrepresented, restocking fees may apply. Items MUST be returned in the condition in which they were shipped. If an item is returned without prior authorization or in not as-shipped condition, there will be no refund.

SPECIAL-OCCASION DRESSES: NO returns for size; we measure at least twice and have been told our measurements are very accurate. Additionally, it is not uncommon to have special-occasion frocks tailored for fit, so if a garment doesn't fit "quite" the way you want it to, you may want to take it to a seamstress. You must notify us within 24 hours of item's arrival if there is a problem, and ship back to us within 48 hours.

Finally, computer monitors are all different, and the color that shows on your monitor may not be exactly the color of the item. Please allow for such color variations. If an item is of a color that’s difficult to photograph properly (and there are a few), I try to describe it accurately.

Really, I’m very easy to deal with, but I have to “'splain the rules” so that we are in agreement as to the terms of sale! Thank you for your understanding.
