What a great little character this honey bunny is! He is beautifully made and accessorised and a nice size for displaying. He has joined some of my other 'bee' related items on my 'bee' shelf. Quick delivery and the beekeeper was well packaged, so arrived safely. Highly recommended.

Wonderfully quirky and beautifully handmade, Hamlet is just adorable and a very well received gift. Shipping was super fast and Jenny’s communication was excellent. Couldn’t be happier, highly recommended.

More teeny-tininess! The miniature details are always the parts I like making best of all.
It's all about the teeny tiny details!
My very simple photography 'studio' set up! I could definitely do with a little more light this time of year.

About

The Beginnings of the Myth.

I first started making models when I was a little girl- bored, on long car journeys to Newcastle to visit my grandparents. My Dad used to buy us sweets for the journey and if he got Opal Fruits (Starburst), which I wasn't mad about, I would always make little models of food items out of them before I ate them. It was a limited palette and left me with sticky fingers, but I think it was the start of something!

When I was about 7 or 8 Fimo and Prima were first introduced to the UK and I started being given sets for Christmas. I took to it in a big way and would make all manner of little characters out of it- more often than not ladies with large breasts...not sure why...?! Eventually I ended up at University doing a BA in Illustration at Loughborough. This was one of the best things I've ever done- not least because it brought me back to Fimo when I realised I could make models for illustration.

After leaving University, I got married, settled down and had my daughter- all wonderful things to do- but the mortgage and responsibility that comes with it meant I had to find a 'normal job' and was side-tracked from pursuing the career as a Children's Book Illustrator.

Now that my daughter is a little older and I have a tiny bit more time at my disposal I have answered the call of my itchy fingers and decided to go back to creating.
I also fairly recently discovered needle felting, and love the organic process- characters appearing almost of their own accord from what's essentially a big ball of fuzz (though it does leave me with a stiff jaw- I'm not an aggressive felter but I do seem to clench when concentrating!)

Partly because I really don't have space to keep everything if I want to continue making things, and partly for the joy of seeing that somebody loves something I've made enough to spend money on it; I decided to set up an Etsy shop and send my little creations out into the world! I make a range of felted and mixed media items. My speciality is polymer clay and mixed media art dolls, as these used to feature in my illustrative work.

I don't have room for a studio space, so I work on my dining table, or on my lap on the sofa. I have a space on top of the bookshelves and a big chest of drawers for all of my materials.

Every aspect of Mythillogical is created, dreamed up or carried out by me in some way shape or form, and I'm ever so slightly obsessive about attention to detail! I feel very lucky to be able to have an outlet for my creative passions, and I'm hoping the love of what I do, and the care and attention to detail is obvious to anyone who buys one of my pieces.

Thank You!

I love creating all manner of three dimensional oddities from a variety of materials and love to create new pieces featuring various characters, silly concepts, puns and word-play.

I absolutely love custom commissions, so if you don't see it in my store, but think I might be able to make it for you please contact me. Or if you've seen a brooch you love but would rather have it as a hair pin, key ring or anything else just let me know!

Thank you for taking the time to come and have a browse! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions at all about any of the items in my shop.

Payment
Payment can be made via paypal and Direct Checkout and for UK customers via bank transfer. The buyer will be responsible for any charges on exchange if pounds sterling is not their currency.

My items are made and sold from the UK, and therefore UK legislation applies. In making a purchase you are agreeing to the terms of UK legislation. The buyer is responsible for any taxes on the item.
Shipping
Please ensure you check before ordering whether the item is ready to ship or made to order. Made to order items will have a indication of expected dispatch time- this is when they will be made and ready to post by and NOT when they are expected to arrive.

For ready to ship items I will endeavour to post out your order as soon as possible following cleared payment but may sometimes struggle to get to the post office as often as I would like! However, items will be posted at least once weekly.

To ensure postage prices are kept to a minimum orders in the UK will be posted via Royal Mail, second class if the value is below £20 though you can pay for a postage upgrade if you wish. Most items with a value between £20-£50 will be sent via Royal Mail Recorded Signed For, and most items with a value above £50 will be sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery. For overseas customers items below the value of £20 will be posted via Royal Mail Airmail, and items above this value will be posted via Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed to all countries where this service is available.

Please note- due to the new Royal Mail postage system, it can be difficult to work out the added cost of postage should you order more than one item. The amount stated is the maximum you will pay, and I will refund any overcharged postage costs to you. Please contact me if you are interested in buying more than one item, and I can advise a more accurate postage cost based on the items you intend to order.

I will retain a certificate of posting or tracking number if applicable. If you have not received your parcel within two weeks (in the UK) or one month (overseas customers) of placing your order please contact me. Unfortunately Royal Mail stipulate that you must wait 30 days before making a claim for an undelivered item, but I will ensure to keep you informed of the process in the unfortunate event that your order gets lost in the post.

If express or insured delivery is required on items, you can select a shipping upgrade where available. Dispatch time will still be as displayed on the listing, if you really really really need it dispatched quicker, please contact me so I can advise if this is possible! I will always try to help with I can, but I also have a 'normal' part-time job and a husband and daughter to think about and please remember that I'm only one little person and not a big company :)

Overseas orders will be posted with a relevant detailed description on the customs label. They will not be posted as a 'gift' and therefore you will be responsible for any customs charges incurred.
Refunds and Exchanges
I really hope that all my customers will be thrilled with their purchase. If, for any reason, you are unhappy with your order you may return it to me in its original condition and with its original packaging within 14 days of receiving the order. I will refund the cost of the order minus any extra shipping cost (eg. if you have opted for a shipping upgrade the extra cost of the upgrade will not be refunded) within fourteen days of receiving the return, or within fourteen days of receipt of evidence from the customer that they have returned the item. Where only part of the order is returned the full shipping cost will not be refunded, only the item cost and the relevant associated shipping cost as appropriate. The buyer will be responsible for the cost of return delivery, and you are strongly advised this should be trackable, insured post, particularly in the case of high value items, as I will not be able to refund any order not received without suitable proof of postage. If the item does not arrive in its original condition with its original packaging (gift box etc) through the fault of the customer a full refund will not be made, a suitable deduction will be made from the refund amount to cover costs incurred. International returns MUST indicate that this is a returned purchase, failure to do so may mean that customs charges are incurred, for which you (the buyer) will be responsible, and this will be deducted from any refund given. For hygiene reasons earrings are non-returnable. If the item has not yet been shipped cancellation of an order should be made via the Etsy cancellation system, or you can inform me in writing via an Etsy Convo and I will instigate the cancellation process for you.

Due to their individual and bespoke nature, custom items exempt from cancellation and are non-returnable. However, please still feel free to contact me regarding any issues with custom orders so I can advise of possible options.

Repairs Policy- Every piece that I make is crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail, and will hopefully give you joy for a long time to come. However, some of my items are rather delicate and may be damaged by rough handling and improper care. In the unlikely event that your order does become damaged within the first year (provided the damage is minor, repairable, and you haven't done something really silly to it!) I would be happy to repair it free of charge- you will just need to pay for the postage both ways. Please contact me before returning items for repair so that I can assess the damage! If you don't want to pay postage and don't mind having a go at fixing it yourself please feel free to contact me for tips and advice- no matter how long ago you purchased the item!
Additional policies and FAQs
Custom Orders- Custom commissions are always very welcome- I love a challenge! Please contact me with your ideas if you wish to commission a bespoke item so that I can advise of pricing and timescales etc.

Please note- custom orders are non-returnable.

Frequently asked questions

Why does it take so long to receive a made to order item?

There are long lead times on needle felted and cake topper orders for a number of reasons:

-I like to set realistic timescales, so that I don't disappoint my customers.

-I will often be working on a number of orders at any one time, so won't usually be able to get started on making yours immediately.

-Whilst I would love to be able to make things all day every day, that just isn't the reality of my life! I work a 'normal' job part-time to pay my mortgage and support my family, and I obviously like to spend time with my husband and daughter too!

-I also add a little 'contingency' time, as life with a young child can be unpredictable!

What if I need my order faster?

If you are ordering for a Birthday or special occasion please contact me before ordering to see if I can get it done in time.

If there is still a reasonable amount of time to produce the order I can sometimes manage to get it to you a little faster, but this will depend entirely on whatever else is going on in my life and where you need the order shipped to. Whilst I like to try to be as helpful as I can, I can't work miracles and it's sometimes better to be realistic about these things!

Can I pay extra for an expedited service?

I am open to accepting payment for an expedited service, but you will need to contact me before ordering to see if this is possible.

If I can get your order made in time without having to rearrange my schedule then I will not need to charge you extra to get your order to you in time, we can agree a new dispatch date and you can order as normal.

If I need to set aside time specifically to get your order made in time then this will be arranged as a custom order with an additional charge added for the express service. The additional charge will usually be 50% of the item cost eg. a £40 order will be £60 if express.

If there is no way I can get your order made in time- with or without the express service charge, I will advise of this.

I found the perfect gift for my friend's/partner's/parent's/kid's Birthday/Christmas/Valentine's/other random special occasion, but haven't ordered in time for the Big Day. Can you help so I don't look like I've forgotten about them?!

Yes- if you place an order worth £20 or above, and you know it won't arrive in time, I can provide a free email copy of a personalised letter in my own branding, which you can print out and give to them on the day instead. Just let me know you would like this service and provide relevant details.

An example letter:

To *Name*

This is just a little message to let you know that *Name* hasn't forgotten to get you a gift.

But an EXTRA SPECIAL person like you deserves an EXTRA SPECIAL gift!

So you will be receiving a lovely gift, handmade with love and care just for you; designed and created in the United Kingdom.

A little late but worth the wait! In the meantime wishing you a
*Very Merry Christmas/Happy Birthday etc*
