There are a lot of Otagiri pieces I really like. This is a great little cup for a spot of tea! Many thanks.

About

Rescuing is my Thing... Cats or Vintage Stuff... everything deserves to be loved!

Once i learned that life was all about having meaning, suddenly i knew what i was meaning to do... rescue things... all my life i have rescued people, ideas, stuff and put them to a different use or clean them up, kiss their wounds and love them. One day, after a period of my life i was wanting to run from, Willow found me.. she was starving, thin, sick and persistent to get my attention. i did not want a cat and was sure she was someone's and if i walked fast enough she would give up. By the time i got home, i realized she was needing me... what i didn't know was how much i would need her!
I had her a few days and decided to take her to Salem Friends of Felines to hopefully leave her there but since they were full on cats, they asked me if i would foster her until she was healed, spayed and a 'furever' home could be found. I figured i could do that and said yes... it took me a month to fatten her up, heal her upper respiratory infection and by that time, i had fallen in love. I had failed. Foster failing is a good thing, however, so i was happy to join that crowd.

Because i felt so overwhelmingly grateful for the experience of fostering and keeping Willow, i wanted to give back somehow so i decided to volunteer at the Thrift Store run by the Salem Friends Of Felines.. a plus for ME because i already had an online vintage store, i have been rescuing odds and ends found here and there for a while and i could use the little knowledge i had of vintage items to help sort the donations and help the store bring in more money.

Then i was asked if wanted to foster MORE kittens! I did not nor could i, resist!! I took home two 3 week kittens needing bottle fed and taught how to be a good cat! Luckily i had Willow, who was confused at first, these mewing little balls of sharp claws... but soon she started acting like a Nanny.. always watching them and taking care of their needs.

These first two were named Eddie and Bear and they were adopted in December. We continue to get kittens every time we adopt the last one out... and many times in between!

Zen Kitty Vintage offers you a nice assortment of Vintage finds... Restaurant ware, Mugs and Unique stuff is my favorite but i'll rescue anything i think someone out there in the big World might use. I love bringing together people who have a need and things that need a person. This planet is full of stuff already... we have enough Stuff and we have enough kittens... adopting from animal rescues and buying from thrift stores supports our planet, each other and keeps the flow of good going!!! Reuse, recycle, regift!
