Welcome to our journey. We are Stevo and Jarka from Slovakia, the guys behind NAWELO.

NAWELO was founded in 2013 after our handcrafted collections of hemp jewelry were quickly sold out. We used to travel around Spain in our caravan to sell our handmade hemp jewelry and explore the beautiful corners of the country during the summer seasons.

We decided to add hemp pants to our collection and turn what was then known as Happyhempy into an eco-friendly hemp tailors studio.

Jarka comes from a family of tailors, so what followed were countless hours of Skype calls with her parents to refresh her school knowledge of tailoring.

And also using all of our savings to purchase our first industrial sewing machine, home overlock and multifunctional sewing machine.

Luckily, our hemp products found fans quickly and were even sold at the legendary Hempworks shop in Amsterdam - the first hemp shop in Europe.

We were also asked to alter Sea Shepherd founder Captain Paul Watson's jacket and the jackets of his fleet's captains, helping in the fight to protect oceans.

And as our tailoring expertise grew, we started to feel the original name - Happyhempy - didn't quite capture our environment-first philosophy. And that's why we're now called NAWELO.

Today, NAWELO is operating from two rooms in our apartment in the Netherlands that we turned into our workshop.
