New Day for Children is a faith based program and facility offering hope and security for girls from the ages of 10-18 caught in the desperation of sexual exploitation for commercial purposes. By working with local partners, businesses, law enforcement and volunteers, New Day developed a program to lift the girls out of this desperation and to provide them with a safe, loving, and hope-filled place to live and flourish.

About

I love the making process and try never to give up even when it's uber challenging!

Welcome to my profile and thank you for stopping by to look. My name is Natalie. I live with my best friend and husband in a semi rural area of Martinez, CA . We are surrounded by open space and parkland. The air is rich with flying birds and bird songs. Many wild animals grace the landscape. I am very thankful to live here with such a grand window onto nature, which is a perpetual inspiration for my work!

Initially I sold my creations from my studio and at selected craft venues. I am now happy to have an Etsy shop and to be part of this wonderful community.

More of my work, commissions and published works may be seen here:

Three pieces of my work have been published in the Lark book, Showcase 500 Rings.

I received a BA in Fine Arts from the University of California, Berkeley. My emphasis was painting and etching. Although I went on to become a teacher of visually impaired students, I continued to pursue my practice of art. I have always drawn and painted, having begun as a very young child. My pursuit of art brings me peace and satisfaction. It beautifully balances all the "left brained " activities which life brings. I have also been a free-lance photographer and have had many images published in a variety of college texts in special education.

I started making jewelry about 15 years ago and wish to thank the generous and gifted teachers who have made this path for artistic expression possible:

Lisa Claxton - bead weaving
Hadar Jacobson - metal clay
LaVonne Vashon - wire wrapping
Joe Silvera - metal smithing, soldering, stone setting, wax carving
Eileen Gerstein - kum boo
Ed Lay - lost wax casting, enamels
Linda Darty - cloisonne
Anat Silvera - torch enameling, fold-forming
Chris Nelson - iron and gold
Jesse Bert - using the hydraulic die press
More to come!! : )

You do not need a PayPal account to pay for your items through PayPal.

You can choose the PayPal option during checkout. After you submit your order, click the "Pay Now" button. Scroll down and you will see the option to pay with a Credit or Debit card WITHOUT having to sign up for a PayPal account.
Payment must be paid in full and have cleared before the item is shipped.

California residents: a 9.5 % sales tax will be added upon checkout.

If you are having any issues with PayPal, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will attempt to assist you in any way that I can.
Shipping
*Unless otherwise requested, purchases above $40 are shipped via USPS Priority Mail costing $6.80 per shipping within the U.S. with a $1.00 charge for each additional item. If you prefer a different mail method, please convo me and it will be arranged.

*For orders outside the U,S., please convo me for details about shipping expenses. I pay the insurance costs on orders within the US only. If you are ordering from outside the US insurance costs and duty expenses are your responsibility. Please convo me if you want insurance and I will get back to you with the cost and create a special order just for you.

*All packages are shipped ready for gift giving -- displayed on jewelry cards (when appropriate), inserted in organza bags or gift boxes tied with a ribbon or raffia. I am happy to ship directly to your gift recipient and include a special hand written message from you. Simply add the recipient's shipping address and your message to them in the "message to seller" at checkout.

*I am generally able to get your jewelry shipped within 24-48 hours of receipt of payment. If you need something shipped sooner, please contact me and I'll do my best to find a way to accomodate your time frame.

Commissions and special orders will take a bit longer because they are made to order.

*Please note: Unless you request otherwise, I will ship to your PayPal specified shipping address, not your Etsy shipping address.
